I'm going to have to go back through the history of this one, to see how you converted the rear hub from a drum to a disk. But this is super inspiring, I think this would be achievable even without your amazing shop full of tools, it would just take quite a bit longer, and I'd have to farm out some of the machining.

@chiefpepdesign6 жыл бұрын
I will bring the bike to a dynojet expert and let them jet it on the testbench. Last time I inserted a Dynojet stage one set, but they changed the jetting anyway. So I left it stock now to let them jet it exactly as they want. I will leave everything open of the airbox in the frame.

This build is very beautiful. My only issue is with your bearings. You have not greased them correctly. You need to grease the bearings before fitting them to the forks. The way you've done it the grease will not be properly penetrated into the race of the bearing. This can lead to premature failure. I'm not trying to be a troll or a dick just trying to impart some of my knowledge as a professional mechanic. I hope I help and not hinder your progress mate.
@chiefpepdesign6 жыл бұрын
mike lara Thanks Mike. The lower race was greased before I fitted it offcourse. But it was a tight fit which I did way before (there is a video about it btw). Yoke was then in the fridge and heated up the race and all to make it fit. I had no reason to take it all apart again. So it was definitely greased well before instelling. Inside and outside. Thanks for the heads-up!

Hi Brandon, thanks. A lot of people have asked the same question concerning the airfilters. It's an universal airfilter from a mini/pocketbike. I've bought mine at: www.minibikestunter.nl/overzicht.aspx?id=6 I think you need 58mm (but just measure your port dimension). The headlight is LSL.

Did you use over-sized jets to compensate for the extra air flow with the pods?
@chiefpepdesign6 жыл бұрын
Not yet. I first want to ride it and experience how it runs. Also want to ride in the piston rings first before tuning the carbs. But to be honoust (I also mention this in the video's) I bring it to the dynojet workshop where they will tune it properly. Otherwise I would have to orde a whole bunch of jets and ride the bike so many times around my house to tune it myself. Rather let this to the experts with the proper machines. It will take them like 1,5 hours and then it's all fixed.
@nickkaplan65856 жыл бұрын
Chiefpep thanks for the reply! I just got a dirt cheap 82 Virago 750 but it’s missing all of the rubber elbow boots and the air boxes. I thought pods would be cheaper and easier. What would you suggest if you know that switch out jets and messing with it for days isn’t an issue?
@chiefpepdesign6 жыл бұрын
Pods are indeed cheap. That is, the ones that I use are like 5 to 10 Euro's. You could go for a Dynojet stage 1 set. There is this set specially for the Virago 750. That helps a lot! You also use an open exhaust? That also really helps (the more air in should go out somewhere... If that is even just some more gas/Dynojet set should almost do the trick)

Marc Jeblo I'm sorry but music is a very personal thing. I switch between 6 different songs and have selected them carefully. Next to that, you don't have much choice since KZbin blocks songs really fast due to copyright protection. So the choices are very little and it costs me a lot of effort to make music suitable (I have to turn and switch the key and lower or higher the pitch to 'fool' KZbin and make the music unrecognizable). I don't have another solution for you to just turn the volume a bit down...
