My dad was always known for this. He would go in his tackle box and show them exactly what they needed to catch fish. Many times as a kid fishing on the Grand Haven pier he would give someone struggling to catch a fish some fresh spawn bags or fresh caught alwives. They almost always would catch something shortly after and be extremely grateful. Much respect for helping this guy out. That was so awesome on his first cast. You made this guys day.

It’s a sign brutha!! It was just you and him!! At the spot and he asked for a bit of help and you took time to show him how to set his rod up and how the rig goes!! And sacrificed some of your spawn sac and it was all done out of humanity and heart!!!! And he nailed his first ever steely !!!!! That my son is what makes a true guide. Sometimes it’s the the little things that make the biggest difference. Be blessed with deeds of good and be gifted with good!!

Wow that was really cool of you..I remember catching my first stealhead..I had to drive 3hrs each way to fish stealhead. On my 4th trip I guy that I had seen off and on all day..he was really on the fish I had seen him land a bunch of fish..as he was leaving he asked me how I was doing..I said nothing yet but hopefully soon..he asked what I was using I showed him my set up and he gave me a few tips on how to better setup my gear and then he gave me the rest of his egg sacks. He gave me 5 sacks and I ended up with 3 fish that day. As I was reeling in my first fish he was cheering me on and by the time I landed the fish and let it go he was gone never got to thank him ..but he really helped me out alot. Big ups to you buddy that was a good thing to do..

Just came across your vids randomly, liked and subscribed after watching you help that gentlemen. Probably one of the best gestures of kindness I have seen in a long time in a fishing video. Too many people I know personally in the float fishing community would have seen him and silently judged him for using a fly on a baitcaster, being a "noob" or whatever sort of classless crap too many younger people think now days. Awesome to see different and hats off to you.

We have all struggled and had tuff stretches and needed a hand. Great job keep that sprit and willingness to help when you could see help was needed. 3 years that guy said he had been fishing there with no success. I would say great luck this fall, but after that deed the Fish Gods should making it rain fish this season for you.

Very nice to help this fella out. Though the size of his fly may have seemed small and depending on the water flow rate and such may have been. I certainly wouldnt have use that type of fly there. But small in my opinion in slow water is awesome and slays the fish. We use size 12-14 hooks commonly on some tribs down here when fly fishing for steelies, coho and kings and with great success. Again depending on flow rate, depth and conditions as well as structure. But its hard to beat spawn sacks in any water or condition. Was very nice of you to help the guy out. I have as much fun teaching my friends and watching them catch fish and learn proper techniques as I do catching them myself. Nothing as rewarding as bringing these awesome fish in for sure. Keep up with the awesome content.

I love steelhead but don't fish for them. I don't seem to be any good at picking the right part of the river at the right time. Plus there are tons of people that fish them around here in Michigan so it can be hard to find a spot.
