While the boxes using the RK3399 may still provide some better measurements, clearly for value versus performance, the new S905X2 boxes are the direction to go. With this technology still in its infancy, none of these boxes are guaranteed from becoming outdated. Being able to buy essentially disposable boxes for around 50 dollars should software move to far ahead of the hardware, is a very welcome choice.

Great review, I finally bought a Beelink GT1 mini. Wow its so small. I'm impressed with it so far. Voice response is excellent, it does anything a phone will do in terms of "Ok Google". Speaking of phones, that's the only downfall, is its running off phone software(8.1) But close enough to perfect for me. The price was awesome, I went thru ChinaBrands with fast shipping & with the US to Cdn conversion & taxes was under $80.

Thats because I have mentioned in multiple videos the reason why netflix is at 480p. The licensing will not be given to any small company. So I believe as long as netflix works it will be a pro.

Looks good., performance is also good. Yet again however, it's another S905X2 with no Miracast, so, like you, I'm really beginning to think the box manufacturers are dropping the feature, especially with this CPU. Least this one does have a gigabit LAN port this time, so that's something.

Yes we saw the same issue with the RK3328 with Nougat but Oreo gave us Mircast. So I'm hoping that Android Pie will resolve this in the s905X2.

Can you tell me why some boxes has dull tones on Kodi streaming of 4k? Compared to Dinobot U5 mini, which is really vibrant, the beelink looks poor. The same as my minix U1 - dull 4k videos. Is it a HDR option, which only looks good on Dinobot? I mean I could buy the t95q or beelink for the price, but maybe it makes sense to pay more and have the better one?

U should use fps meter its on google play. Notice: if the device is rooted u can use it by just granting permission,if not you'll of to use your PC and go through a lot of crap.

This year I want to see great TV boxes, I want to see some real progress in the TV box world. Because 2018 was not very exciting and not much progress was made. We need to get more harsh with reviews telling the manufacturers what we want. I know Netflix HD is not possible as Netflix will not give licensing to smaller companies even if they pay for it. so 480 netflix will not go down as a con, as long as it works fine. Mirrcast has to work its a very basic feature and if they can't get that right its getting a con. At the moment the Tanix TX92 is one of the only boxes that can mircast and airplay with a superb performance. its a great all round box.

Chigz, this box is really good, but recently lost its google license, i am extremely upset. its not really a cheap box. I would not recommend buying this crap. I am going to get a nvidia shield and that is that, i wont have any issues if i get it. These Chinese manufacturers try and get away with a lot of nonsense they do. Thanks for the review.

Hi. A great review as always. I was just prepared to buy this box, but as you said, it does not support Miracast for Android, by default :(. I read on Beelink forum that they will release a software updating this feature, which for me is a deal-breaker. And the price for it went up to 79.99$ for the 4gb RAM/64 internal storarge. So for this money, this is the best TV box?(Has to support Maximum 1080p videos and movies, some gaming and also Miracast). Can you please update the video,or at least confirm that it works perfectly with the Miracast app(for Android) that you found? Thank you.

None of these TV boxes are designed for gaming as there is no cooling. So eventually it will overheat and damage. If you stream movies it will never overheat. Games will certainly cause overheating. If you still want to game just get a shield TV.

This runs full android and nothing compares to the shield, its in a league of its own. Yes there is a little more flexibility with full android boxes but it really depends what you want. I can do anything on the shield, including sideloading, iptv, kodi etc and it's much faster than any other box.

The T95Q has a great performance, but also the best home screen, very well optimised, fast wifi. Its pretty solid in overall performance and general usability. You have a gigabit Lan, Supports Dolby DTS and supports Airplay. This GT1 mini has nearly exactly the same specs and performance, but the home-screen is not great, sometimes buggy, also there is no mirrcast or airplay and no DTS.
