Looks an amazing device. Awesome idea of a root switch. I am VERY disappointed with Netflix. I don't use it and never will now. That is so wrong. How are these "small" companies expected to grow when not given the opportunity to do so.

Really a good product. Yea I do agree with what Chigz said. Netflix HD licence must be given to even small TV box . It's not good way that though they are ready to pay but it's not provided. Hope Netflix consider this & provide it's facility to all .

Shame to Netflix. I started selling boxes several years ago for family and friends, my first boxes was A95x 1Gb/ 8Gb and my customers are still using it cause they are so reliable. Only once a year they will bring them to me to refresh and update the Apps. Can't wait to get my first updated A95x. Thanks chigz for all the help you have given me with your awesome products reviews. Hope next year will be a better one for all of us who follow you. Amazing performance for the price from the A95X and hopefully a sign that even better stuff is on the horizon for 2019! Netflix really needs to stop being greedy b*st*rds and give the smaller companies a chance. What they are really saying is “unless you’ve got the coin, forget about getting a Netflix DRM lIcense”. 🤬 Surely they realise that they are a content distribution platform and taking the “lower fees, more licences” route will only benefit them in the long term by essentially becoming a worldwide household staple. 🤷🏼‍♂️🤦‍♂️ Wishing you a great Xmas, dude! Hi @chigz, My budget is about USD 60 and I am stuck between A95X or the T95Q. I believe the A95X does not have any LAN ports as opposed to the description mentioned above while the T95Q has an 100MB LAN port. That's the only big difference i presume eh? Thanks in advance mate. :)

T95Q has a gigabit LAN and is slightly faster CPU speed.

Totally agree that Netflix policy is totally unacceptable. I bought a couple of TV boxes early in 2018 for use with Netflix and other streaming services. Netflix cut off their availability on these boxes without any satisfactory explanation and I've had to revert to old versions of Netflix that don't work properly. I will cut my ties with Netflix as soon as I can be comfortable with any alternate service.

Thanks for the video. Very informative. WARNING: The internal port, which should support up to "2TB", only recognized a old 160GB Hitachi drive. It was formatted Fat32. Tried 1TB WD red and 2TB drives. The drives are immediately ejected. Tried Fat32 in GPT and MSDos mode. No luck. So don't count on this box to run Kodi with attached sources. You will have to plug a USB drive externally.

As an alternative, you can use Kodi 18 with unofficial Netflix addon. It runs quite stable but need higher resource demand. I have tried with a box of quadcore amlogic s912 with 1GB of ram, it stutter alot.

I couldn't agree more regarding Netflix. Amazon Prime Video is no better either in my opinion, I've still never found a working version of their app for my M8S pro L. It's not only greedy but counter productive, all they are doing by denying smaller companies DRM licences is encouraging consumers to use copyright infringing apps.

Amlogic has 3 new SoC announced last September, this channel has reviewed one with and S905X2, S905Y2 (which actually is very similar specwise, differs only in form factor) and the much stronger S922X, which could put RK3399 to dust. I hope a TV box with this SoC will come soon. Another good news is all 3 were also demonstrated to run Android 9.0.

I totally agree with you. Netflix should give HD/4k license to all the companies either big or smalls. Bcoz even small companies do a lot of R & Ds to develop a good quality TV Box in cheap price only for common people and Netflix should reach out to these common people in order to respect the art of the artist who works for Netflix original episodes and also earn more money for themselves. And 1 more thing that is Netflix has given licence to newer models LG TVs, Apple TV box for dolby Atmos license for their Dolby content , but for Nvidia Shield TV box it is limited to DD+ surround sound. Netflix should also give atmos sound streaming licence to Nvidia Shield and other companies too which are capable to deliver dolby atmos sound.

You do realise the Shield has NO Dolby Audio licence. That is the root cause of the problem. Tell NVIDIA to actually go and get a Dolby Audio licence like LG, Apple and Amazon seem to manage to be able to do.

Chigz your reviews are really helpful kudos from the Netherlands, just one question. I would like to see a test where a bus powered USB HD is connected to the tv boxes to see if it's able to power the disk without a hiccup. In the past i used a Boxee Box and had no problems with external disks, with the Mecool boxes a tested the drives all failed when playing local media from the same external drives...

Wow Netflix is really missing out with these small companies, not everyone can afford an Nvidia shield or a xiaomi box(well maybe the xiaomi but definitely not the Nvidia), guess they feel that it's not a big financial gain by doing business with small companies. i have just bought one of these.Yes its fast enough but trying to use the supplied remote is an nightmare.Any alternatives to using this remote? I got it to work with an app on my phone though which was much easier. I have tried watching channels but stutter sometimes on my wifi.KZbin app not working either and continually shuts down.

Mi Box S also has a full chrome cast built in. The mi box also has official support for dolby along with official 4K streaming on various different apps. If did not care for Netflix and 4K then its better to go for the A95X Plus for the better performance power and full version of the play store.

Mi Box S with the old s905 chipset plays 4k 60 fps. This box with s905y2 plays 4k 60 fps sample videos. Stronger devices with s905x2 (x96 max, mecool km9) not play. I don't understand this logics...

S905X2 is more powerful but unstable with firmware issues. TX92 is a superb box I actually use mine in the living room.
