4 years ago, never expected that this video I have made would be noticing. ----- From the beginning , only few friends of mine known about this work but now it have so many more views and comments. Many thanks to all you guys for watching my video! ----- This video was made in my final year of senior high school. Meanwhile , I'm about to be graduated from unniversity so there isn't much time left to make more videos. Nevertheless, I'm really looking forward to seeing you guys enjoying my next video, I will try my best to come back soon and make more animations in the near future^^ ----- P/S :In particular, this short animation isn't new trailer for Spirited Away 2 guys :)))). For my own opinion, Spirited Away doing it great without having a new sequence. This is the best ending Ghibli have ever written for everyone in the movie.

Here's something to ponder: According to what others have said, Haku's final words to Chihiro in Japanese were "I'll come for you" and in Japanese culture, that was understood to be him promising to be her spirit guide when the time came for her to die. So, they will see each other again... but only after they can be together forever.

Sorry, but that's not what he says at all. I speak Japanese. She asks him if they can meet again. He simply says "without a doubt/absolutely". They repeat that same word to each other. Then he simply tells her to go and not look back. That's all he says. He doesn't say anything in relation to coming anywhere, or coming for her.

The most depressing part about this is that Chihiro actually lost her memories of what went on Spirited Away once she walked out of the tunnel

Perhaps one day Chihiro's going for a nice walk through the forest when she stumbles across that old red building. Something would tug at her heart, a flash of memories, a feeling of nostalgia, dreaming of a place she'd once been, and she'd be lured forward again. When the spirit veil falls from her eyes and she enters through that new world she'd remember everything again.

She didn't actually forget it eternally as most imply, but rather, she forgot about it BUT will remember it eventually according to Miyazaki. The hairband that Zeniba gave to Chihiro came with a message that it would help her remember her friends, and one beautiful detail I noticed in the film is that right before she runs to her car after she leaves, the hairband glimmers. I'd like to believe that the magic worked, meaning that her memories would re-appear. So while she did forget it, she most likely remembered it once again, so don't worry! Her memories are still there!

Once the realization of "we aren't the innocent kids we once were anymore" hits us, we get an urge to go back to our "childhood version". But as we all know, changing back to how we were as kids, it would mean, to pretend like we've never entered adulthood. In other words, "living in the past". Which makes us unable to live in the present or proceed to the future. Shihiro changed a lot cuz of the experience she gained from the time she spent at the spirits' bath house. Those experiences make her the person she is at present moment. Haku tells her to never look back, cuz he knows. He knows that Chihiro will soon realize that she is no longer the person she was once. And she might get the urge to try to change herself back. Maybe "never look back" is a portrayal of how those who dwell in the past can't proceed towards their future.

Spirited away has had different effects on me at different walks of my life. The older I get, the sadder the movie is to me. Spirited away reminds me that childhood is beautiful, and there is something so pure about it that can never be relived nor recreated.

It would be hard. I think that her entire entrance to the spirit world was guided by the spirits. I think that after the entire sequence she would've forgotten about it for a while OR she could've remembered but probably might not be able to enter again on command. It's a sequence in Ghibli films, such as where Mei entered Totoro's realms without knowing, but wasn't able to enter on command.

Yeah but fun fact: Haku actually died after chihiro left the spirit world and remember the hair tie zeniba gave her, haku's tears are actualy in the hair tie whenever is sparkles its haku's tears so they can only meet in the after life 😭 (its in google 👁️👄👁️)

I just finished watching the movie and in all sincerity It really made me cry. Forever in my heart. After doing some research, it is said that in certain theaters of Japan, at the end of the movie, there was an extra scene where Chihiro is in her new school. However, the teacher announces that there is a new student, who likes to be called Haku, ending the film. When asked if this was true, Hayao Miyazaki never confirmed or denied this. I really hope that this is true, I really wish they added a scene at the end of Chihiro and Haku together after leaving the spirit world. :'( 😞😭

It would be so nice if she saw Haku again. However once she passed the tunnel she totally forgot the experience...or like said Zeniba, "we can't remember but don't really forget". Also the passage is closed in the end. Haku says since he knows his whole name now, we'll try to go back to HIS world (the river he lived in got drained). None of them belonged to this third world (bath house), but was an opportunity to reunite for one last time (who knows?). This movie is poetry and so beautiful... Thats why she's transparent? She meets him after death when she becomes a spirit too? I've always imagined this! ☺ Beautiful job 💕

When I was young I didn't appreciate these Ghibli films that much because they feel like something I could easily imagined in an inspired dream. While this still holds very true for the imaginative child I was, I feel like my appreciation increased over the years as I grow into an adult. Soon, I realized their values lie in the fact that childhood is transcient and one day I would forget how a child thinks - the sensibilities of an innocent world, and this is what the films can permanently preserved.

Not necessarily. Some cultures believe that when we die, our spirit is represented by the body we had when we were at our happiest in life. This could mean that she died naturally at old age and simply her spirit returned to a younger form- in other words, that she had a good adult life.

This is so emotional!!! I remember being little and going to a rental store and finding Spirited away. Of course I didn't remember the name back then, but every time my parents would take me to the store I would always find and choose that movie to see. About 7 years ago I remembered and finally found the movie and I'm so happy to finally own it after years of searching it, since it the stores I went to had the DVD for about 40$. One of the best movies of all time💗💗💗 thanks to this movie I fell in love with ghibli films and anime in general.

as a kid in high school I hear of anime but never understood; I saw some but thought it was just cartoon's. Then I saw a bit of spirited away on tv; but I didn't get it's name. A year went by, I found it again. I saw it in a store and bought my first anime movie. At this moment I literally cried. Everything I grew up with made sense. It was all anime, it spoke to me at school and it said "you are not alone" even when I was bullied a lot. I never looked back, I never stopped smiling.

When I watched this with some friends we were all sad at the end, but one of us said "What if they made a sequel where she dies and becomes a spirit herself." This is amazing and pretty much just how I imagined it. Great work!
