As a parent of a kid in daycare I wished it worked that way. Unless they use an app to do multi-point checkin (parent check in at bus drop off, teacher check in at school), it is very difficult to catch these situations as school at that age is very ad-hoc

@@RaoVenu Um...no need for an app. Take attendance. If the kid isn't there you ask the bus driver if the kid was picked up. If so, you recheck the bus. The average bus is 25 feet inside. Make it mandatory with every school bus company to walk to the back while viewing driver side seats, then back to front of bus while viewing passenger side. It takes about 20 seconds. whatever the charges are filed when a parent knowingly leaves a child in a car is now the same for buses. If a child dies on a bus, it would likely be involuntary manslaughter charge.

@rickyspanish4922 жыл бұрын
Financial responsibility is one of the aspects of good parenting. Not being financially stable, having children, then complaining about not having enough to support said children is absolutely regarded. It's the parents' responsibility to be able to financially support their family. Are there bumps in the road sometimes and this get difficult? Sure, but if you're willingly starting out down that path then I think you don't deserve sympathy.
@JM-zg2jg2 жыл бұрын
@@rickyspanish492 Unfortunately a lot of people agree with you. The societal costs of humans waiting until they are older to reproduce however, are quite high. Evolution doesn’t seem to give any fucks about our preferred economic model. Humans are better off reproducing while younger. The number of health and mental issues caused by waiting are only now being really noticed, and it isn’t good. Essentially we are letting an abstract concept of our own creation, dictate the slow decline and death of our species.
@rickyspanish4922 жыл бұрын
@@JM-zg2jg Lol yOu GoT mE! Yeah? You sincerely believe MOST people would agree with that? I find that hard to believe considering their obsession with rights and freedoms while entirely neglecting truth and responsibility. You're familiar with the concept of responsibility no? Also, it's not "waiting", it's having the responsibility to do what's right, not what makes you feel the best. Children deserve to come into this world in loving and supporting homes. See, people think parenting is a God given right but is actually a privilege and they abuse it heavily. Your self perceived "right" to procreate does not trump the rights of those yet to be born. I agree there is a biological timeline to procreation, more for women than men, but do not conflate low birth rates and more single people to them "waiting until later". It's a consequence of complex social dynamics like women being so far removed from the vital role of motherhood that it negatively impacts men and womens' abilities to meet and form relationships (the starting ingredients for procreation). I will never back down from the notion people need to be vastly more responsible than they are. In my opinion it's a modern epidemic, lack of responsibility and extremely heightened sense of entitlement. Like every conclusion you made is absolutely ridiculous. You think that single individual concept (which I already showed as being unfounded and mischaracterised) is the reason for societal decline? I think you have no conception of what responsibility is which is why you place the blame in the wrong spot. People always try to skirt responsibility and make excuses. Sorry if you buy into your own b.s. but you won't fool me.

@@rickyspanish492 waiting to long because of finances is a man's fear of commitment imo. It's a lie and an excuse. No one is financially or mentally ready to have kids. If we all wanted until we were actually ready, we'd be grandparent aged and retired. And by then most people at that age can't handle having kids around. Which is why they love having grandbabies (they can send them home.) Every situation is different. I'm not saying you should have a baby if you're living in the streets. But if you have food in your belly and a roof over your head and can afford it for one more person. There is no reason to not have a child. I work for an ISD in transportation and we have to do a child check (no child left behind) at the end of the last route before returning to barn or parking structure. This child check consist of the driver and/or attendant must walk from the front to the back of the bus and look on and under seats. Then once to the back of the bus we have to put the bus empty sign up in the window to verify no child was left behind. I believe all independent school districts, counties/parish school transportation, childcare and elderly care facilities, etc. should implement this tactic into their daily routines.

I sent my daughter to a state-funded day care program in 1996. She attended for 2 days. As a teen mom (I was only 16, my baby not even 4 months old), I didn't have my driver's license, so being state funded, I had to find one with "delivery" service. A day care van, I packed her up at 7 am, sent her off and went to school. She was "dropped off" at 7 PM. With a dirty diaper, screaming bloody murder, as I sat in the bay window watching and waiting and worrying for 3 Hours. Same thing happened the 2nd day and she would never go back. My mom had to take me to pick up her belongings to find that they never fed her. Never picked her up out of her crib. They gave her formula to another baby. My baby was the only White Girl there. And the very last to be dropped off. They kept her in a dark room, among other babies. After that, that daycare left babies on the van and they died. Multiple times before Raquel Rutlidge happened. Everybody is thankful, and that is why she received the Pulitzer Prize.

Sad to see this continuing to keep happening. Oh my word 😞 you see my then 5yr old was left on the bus 21 yr ago in sept 2001 my child was 3rd to the last drop off. I waited outside my home as usual for her to get off the bus. I watched the bus just drive by me I’m chasing it down screaming wait where’s my child? Nope the driver stepped on the gas and left the Area. I run to my neighbors home to call the school office which they was suppose to stay open until Bus drivers return. Well it was a payday Fri come to find out everyone at the school left thinking so n so is staying to answer phones. Anyway I had no car I had no home ph in my home so While in my neighbors home on her ph i Then called my sister to please go look at the school to find a employee or someone to find out what the bus drivers number was. My sister called the principle of the school he says well it’s a Friday everyone has left. My sister said my niece never got off the bus at her home with her mom the principle said well idk what to tell you. Maybe your niece got off at the wrong bus stop. I’ll call the bus drivers home hold on. The principle tried calling the bus driver with no response. My sister calls me back and says to me what the principle said. I was in shock no one was helping me find my baby. Then I catch the city bus into town to the bus barn and this is 3 hours after trying to find my baby. I get a cop to help me and dispatch was called saying a neighbor of the bus barn has called in saying there’s a little girl locked on the bus screaming n crying I want my mommy. The caller was on the line with nine one one dispatch as he was trying to tell my baby to calm down that he’s there with her. She’s screaming n crying tears falling down her face the man caller was terrified and choked up he spoke to my baby in a calm voice and was able to get my baby to open the bus doors she did and got off the bus & walked towards the kind man. She’s crying I want my mommy and daddy. She’s stuck behind the fence at the bus barn but in front of the man. The cop is telling me what’s going on my heart broke hearing my baby crying so hard she was scared and alone. Turns out the bus driver had a son in football and he was in a hurry to get off work to drive 78 miles to his sons football game. He didn’t double check the bus before getting off. My baby was asleep on the bus since she’s the 3rd to last drop off her bus ride home from school is over 1:13min on the bus normally she falls asleep after a long day at school. But this time the bus driver didn’t stop at my home was cuz he said he never saw my kid on the bus so he thot she was picked up at school. All lies cuz the bus has a camera it showed him greeting each kid giving them high fives. The bus driver was fired 3 weeks after the incident My kid went to therapy. I threatened to Sue the school for child neglect and the principle told me I couldn’t and if I tried I would loose. Ugh I regret that. I hated that my baby was left on the bus and thankfully that kind man helped my baby him and his wife was trying to give my baby a bottle of water cuz she was sweating and crying so hard. Oh tears running down my face as I’m reliving this. 😢 a mom will go above and beyond to find her baby n do what she can to protect Just thankful I have a strong bond with my now 26yr baby she lives with me today and we’re best friends. I divorced her dad but we still live in same small community so my kid still spends time with her dad in fact he hired her to work with him at the restaurant she’s a cook now aww just love my 26yr old baby

I would also file charges against the school administrators for not even knowing a kid was missing or absent. What happened to bus monitors who were in place to help with the safety of the children. Seeing who got on and who got off. CHECKING THE BUS.

So the mother gets called by a woman who finds her son. The mother then calls the school, who didn't know he was missing. Obviously, the parents didn't know he was missing either; else the mother would have called the school sooner.

@@healingspiritijn Sometimes I think. I could be wrong, but aside from you, and the few who liked the comment; no one else picked up on that.

This child was failed twice; apart from the bus driver not checking the bus (which is bad enough), why the heck didn't the school do a roll call & contact his parents?!
