I think the kid understands more than the adults think she does. Either go back to the foster parents that abuse her, go back in a system that doesn't care or be with a lady that treats her nice but is a bit crazy. She might be making the only choice that she can see as ok. It's her only way out.

Not really. The crazy lady was pretending the girl is crazy lady's dead baby. It's made clear in th episode that the lady who abducted the girl is severely mentally distressed, and real life cases like this, end up with the child dead, because the child told the crazy person that the crazy person isn't actually the child's parent. The crazy lady already gave that girl a birthday cake with crazy lady's dead baby's name on it.

Kind of really heartbreaking if one thinks about it. Her pain must have been so so so brutal to cause her to see this child as her own deceased daughter. Lady was wrong as hell but if she'd gotten psych help, she could have been able to handle it. This may be a fictional show but this no doubt happens a lot in real life. Losing a child has to be one of the worst things in the world to happen. :'(

I’ve seen this episode and I had a bittersweet reaction to it. One, as a student studying to be a teacher, we are told and reminded to go and tell the guidance counselor, principal (higher up), and/or authorizes if we seen signs of abuse or neglect to interview and possibly remove the child from the home due to it being a toxic environment. Two, if a teacher takes a kid away from their home no matter what the reason is, that is kidnapping and if you are found guilty it shows up on your record and makes it difficult to get hired at a different school (especially if you are found not guilty) Three and this is an important one, (and in the words of Olivia Benson) no one deserves another persons child.

Eh, I don't think either decision was good for the child. On the one hand, there was going back to her abusive foster family, and even if she did get removed from them, she'd be in the system, which gives her a 50-50 odd on finding a decent family. On the other hand, go with a delusional kidnapper that has a strong possibility to get dangerous and violent down the line, shown by her obvious rage in another scene. If Wendy doesn't live up to Crystal's name, she's gonna be in a lot of trouble.

@@adinicic4259 - I believe you are correct. She was the Good Wife and now she is the Star of The Good Wife which is on CBS Pay To View- CBS All Access which I refuse to watch because I refuse to pay for it because I think Broadcast TV and Star Trek TV should be free and not have to pay a price for.

did she come back in a different episode? She kind of looks like a kid version of that girl from the episode where she was posing as 16 but was actually 26, killed the teacher and was sleeping with the other one.

I'm displeased at the judge for being a jerk to Ben Stone and threatening legal action against him if he talks to Wendy again. Stone was legally required by law to prosecute the crazy lady for child kidnapping so the judge shouldn't be hostile to him because of it, he should be mad at those who made those laws while not taking into account that situations like the one Wendy was in could happen.

This situation is very complex to me.🤔 Sure Mrs. Fenady abduct Wendy and hid in her basement which is consider kidnapping but it was out of heartfelt and profound intentions as she genuinely and sincerely cared for Wendy's safety and well-being as Wendy dealt with child abuse mentally, emotionally, and physically due to her neglectful foster mother. It would have been better if Mrs. Fenady called the police and report child abuse about Wendy that way it wouldn't look peculiar and suspicious.

Isn't there a rule for lawyers that you should never ask a question if you don't already know what the witness will answer? L&O always makes like the prosecution is the underdog. But in h end, they are just incompetent.
