I'll be sure to tune in! This channel is a great service and it's badly needed. If you look at the rest of the child support videos on you tube, it's just a mish-mash of individual videos with no focus. Using mock hearings is a great way for people to learn what actually goes on and how to act before they actually get in a court room. Thanks for doing this.

I had to find out this way what a default case was. I was more than willing to work with my sons dad but he never showed up or answered so they didn’t even ask me what amount I wanted. My plan was to take the amount and cut it in half. But no, judge swooped in and set the amount based on our incomes. I asked him to come to the table so we can work this out, and nothing. Why do people do this. Also- I waited 11 years for him to get a better job as he asked- turns out he was just gaslighting me. No better job or an attempt for one. Tired of being hungry

I’m literally in your shoes right now. i gave my sons father 7 years! I have been with my husband now for 6 years and we would love to change his last name. I gave his father every opportunity to pay whatever he could. He just retired from the Army after serving 14 years. He was served with paternity papers since he did not show up to the hospital to see his son, his name isn’t on the birth certificate. So he sign certified papers from the circuit clerk for a court ordered paternity test however he hasn’t responded in the 10 days they gave him. I have to submit default judgment tomorrow and we will see what happens from there.

Laura Nelida - In most states he would have been ordered to pay child support based on minimum wage, even if he wasn’t employed. Not being employed is not a sufficient excuse to not be responsible for the child. You should have requested support be ordered by the court.

That was far enough they were willing to pay all the bills and food . Unfortunately this is not the way it really works I showed up 4 times each time they swore that I would get a default judgement if she didn’t show up again….. lol. I made drastically less money and had my kids for a good part of their lives and most of the time I didn’t have them I was paid up completely on my child support through the ATTORNEY GENERAL at some points even over paying plus sending her extra money plus having my kids for at least 3-4 months outta the year and a lot of extra stuff on top of that as well. They never gave me a default judgment even though she was served those 4 times and never showed up to court or even bothered to answer when the court called . At the end everything they raised my child support $250 a month. People ask why didn’t I get a lawyer the answer is simple lawyers cost money and I barely had money to eat some nights. And just a little interesting fact one of my kids did not live with her since he was 14 even though she still got bud for him and food stamps, one of them was grown and in the United States Air Force, and one of them lived with me for about a year after everything. But nah they didn’t give me a default judgement for her never showing up. The court proceeded alright but just in raising my child support. On the cool it don’t matter what u do u can call one of these child support officers right now and they will tell you that they are not concern with the kids collecting the money. I appreciate the way the video was put out trying to give people some hope but it’s not reality

You should be ashamed of yourself you should be out working taking care of your child because you wanted them the court gave you the children because they need to tax a man on his earnings it is not a law it’s an excise tax on earnings women are told by lawyers and judges and friends of the court that child support is a law it’s not a law according to what you think it’s an excise tax on disposable earnings and they even get that wrong under the fair debt protection act You wanted the children you took full responsibility of your children of course you’re not being involved in your bedroom making yet you’re running to the court and crying for help give the kids to the father you’ should be ashamed of yourself. My child's father and I agreed on $675 out of court based on our income and health insurance. We had joint custody and when our son went to his father during the summer, I didn't request the $675. His father decided he wanted full custody and took me to court. The court decided we'll stick with joint custody, our son would live with me and they increased the child support to $885. All mothers aren't greedy. I even had to spend 10k for a lawyer.

Of course, it’s not real court. But if it was, the wife could have pled her case, but he didn’t cop out completely. One has the right to change employment and he was still paying reasonable child support plus health care. To lock someone into a job for 18 years is hardly fair. In two years his towing company could be raking it in. Bet Mrs. White would be there then!
