Yeah, I can't stand Judge Lake some times. I watch her show, I like it most times, but I can't stand when Judge Lake tells men who aren't the biological father and was lied to and manipulated by the mother and such that they should "step up and be a father to the child/children" when it is not their responsibility. The guilt she tries to lay on them in my opinion is ridiculous. It's one thing if he has been raising the child like his for years and then decides to walk out... yeah okay that's when I think he should stay and be responsible for the child. But babies and toddlers? Nope. If they don't want to get attached to a child they found out is not theirs, I'm not going to moan about that and I think it's not right that Judge Lake encourages it anyway.
@nicolette100

@@nicolette100dont know what show you watch. Judge Lake ABSOLUTELY encourages victims of paternity fraud to take care of the child after finding out it's not theirs. @@lamargordon6017to be fair, the state of paternity varies from state to state. i know that in texas it most definitely matters if you’re the bio dad or not. regardless if you’ve signed the birth certificate or not. you absolutely MUST be the father according to DNA results when it comes to paying child support in texas. although im not sure where exactly judge lakes court is based. but like i said, the laws vary from state to state when it comes to child support and visitation rights.

But how do we know he’s unemployed? She said he was unemployed, but she also had abandoned them for 10 years. Inconsistent pay isn’t gonna cut 10 years for a dude and his child. He was doing SOMETHING to get money. Whether it was part time as a cashier, working a pole at a gay club, being a business owner (he did say he owned a business), or even being a drug dealer, he had money somehow. Just because she believes he’s unemployed or doesn’t know about him having a job doesn’t mean he’s unemployed. He’s a man, he can’t have five kids and live off of their dad’s child support.

I absolutely LOVE Judge Vonda B. She is fair and doesn't take any BS. I'm in Texas too and when my son was 5 my son's biological donor (not a mother by any means now) abandoned him for the simple fact that the judge awarded my Conservatorship and she was forced to pay child support. He's 23 now and we have yet to see ANY action taken towards her. She has never even seen him once since then or reached out. She's never spent a day in jail or paid a single dollar and owes me over $43,000. Maybe if back in the day we had to stand before Judge Von B things would have been different...but then again, there's only so much a judge can do. It's no easier for a man to raise a child by themselves than it is a woman to raise one so shout out to all the stand-up parents out there handling their business by every means necessary and Judge Von B callin' it like it is.

Yes Texas is the WORST! I'm also in Texas, neither of my children's fathers show up to visits or pay their court ordered MINIMUM child support.... my daughters father is actually LESS than the state minimum (he gave a sob story about being in rehab and finding God so he couldn't afford minimum support.... the day after court he left rehab. No idea where he is. Doesn't pay up or show up... not in my daughter's 8 years on this earth. She hasnt met him and we recently told her that my hisband is not her biological father but he has raised her since she was 2.) .... my son is special needs and his father hasn't shown in 9 years. He is now 12 and his fathers visits were few anyway. He always cancelled and he even LEFT HIM AT THE DAYCARE AND NEVER PICKED HIM UP WITHOUT TELLING ME HE WASNT GOING TO HAVE HIS VISIT SO I GOT A CALL AT FREAKIN 7PM FROM THE DAYCARE SAYING NO ONE PICKED HIM AND THEY WERE ABOUT TO CALL THE POLICE FOR ABANDONMENT!!!!!! I asked why he never showed or even bothered to call me and he said "I was working it's not a big deal I just forgot".... like REALLY?! My son is autistic, adhd, and is now being tested for intellectual disability. He has a ton of medical bills and me and my husband and sometimes my mother have been doing it all without any help from my ex. I have reported him to the state multiple times for not paying any of his support and the state never does anything about it. Texas is absolutely ridiculous! Like yeah these men (or in other cases, women) are trash, but they know they can get away with it because the state won't do ANYTHING about it!

While im all for supporting single (or even married) Mothers that unfairly carry a load, im not blinded to the men who do the same and are often unsung heros. Thank you for being fair and bringing light to a truth thats often been veiled by bitterness, resentment, and attemps at revenge.

it's actually amazing that you need to be on a tv show to be equal under the law in child cases. i've heard a lot of stories of fathers being dragged through the system time and time again being forced to pay child suport even if he has 50/50 custody i really hope the father and his child gets a better life after this so the child can get on with his life with a deadbeat mom.

That statement goes both ways. Women and men both up and leave their children for their other half’s to deal with it and think they don’t have to pay until they’re brought to child support. Judge Vonda is extremely considerate and fair in every case there is and doesn’t put up with any pettiest meanwhile any other judge will make you pay a ridiculous amount or not grant you much custody of your children even if you’re the primary caretaker out of pettiness.

She judges fairly and is always looking out for the best interest for the child/children, their health and welfare. I applaud her. I think she's great ! The father in this case, you could see the pain in his face that he was able to provide for his son the way he needed and wanted to, and the mother's attitude, unbelievable. She looked like she didn't care until the judge told her how much she was gonna have to pay, her eyes I thought her head was gonna pop off in anger. She should help with child support, it's her son too even if she doesn't have anything to do with the child. I empathize with the dad and the child.
