Some people believe that childhood is the best stage of happiness. While others believe a person can enjoy more happiness in other stages of life.
Discuss both the views and give your opinion.
A heated debate is going on among scholars about the happiest stage of life. An army of people believe that childhood is the best. However, other scholars prefer to differ by stating several different stages of life as more enjoyable and happy. This article aims to analyze both the views and will prove that the stages other than childhood are better in terms of happiness.
Those in favor of childhood argue by saying that it is a phase of life where there are no worries. Children are carefree and worriless so they can enjoy every moment they live without any tension. Similarly, a child is usually free from some negative emotions like envy and jealousy which leads his life towards enjoying every moment. At the same time parents are taking care of their basic needs such as food, shelter, clothing, medicine and education. In this way they do not have any burden to be born.
Contrasting the above view, according to many other scholars and I, childhood is a stage where life is dependent on others for money and resources. They are not free to make their decisions so most of the time they can not follow their passion or fulfill their wishes. Education has become very stressful and it snatches away happiness. On the other hand, during the other stages of life, people are free to do whatever they want as they are earning their own money. In all the other stages of life people can make their own decisions and be happy by satisfying their own needs and wishes. In this way the amount of freedom and resources to enjoy life are more in other stages in comparison with childhood. So, it can be inferred that people are happier in other stages.
To conclude, it could be said that young age may appear to be the happiest phase, but in reality the phases where a person is earning are happier than other periods of life.
