Schools in England are set to be told not to teach children sex education until pupils are aged nine and over, with explicit conversations delayed until they are aged 13, reports suggest.
Director of Sex Matters Fiona McNena joins Talk’s Jeremy Kyle to discuss this further.

Funny how very young children are being treated like adults when it comes to sex ed, but for everything else they are now treated like little kids until they are 25.

They don't want to teach kids/students how to be a good kids/good human being, school should teach them moral lessons or something creative that can help them to understand them.

There’s a lot of hours in a school day, they can teach them all kinds of topics, they already do

It used to be called Biology class,where we learned about all parts of the body and how they functioned. This included sexual organs. That is all they need to be teaching in school.

Children are not adults, but they will be one day, and they should be given the correct and appropriate education based on unbiased professional opinion to make sure their transition into adulthood is safe. Whatever your stance on the conversation about gender, I wouldn’t be taking ANY advice off this government and I would be very wary of their intentions pre-election.

I dont mind sex education. Biology should be taught. But encouraging children to change their sex/gender is not acceptable.

I think seperate toilets should be established again. There are young girls holding on to go all day because of hasslement from boys and therefore have aquired bladder infection and pain.

Along with the general moral decline and rise in sexual depravity, this is a win! But still a proverbial drop in the ocean, when compared with the over abundance of pornography on the Internet, including social media. No doubt we're in a phase of sexual decline, but hopefully, we've hit rock bottom! So that we can now start that slow climb to get out of this hole. A climb to rectify this imbalance somewhat, to get back to more traditional values. A Long Road ahead to be sure! With plenty of obstacles on the way, including those deranged groups with dangerous ideologies, who wish to pervert children, and the rest of society beyond recognition! But more and more of us are FINALLY coming around to fight back and stop this rot, before it claims us all! Anyway, a Good First Step! And a win for Common Sense! 👍🏼

Honestly, I would have benefitted massively from knowing these things are on the horizon at a young age and definitely before secondary school. It protects children to educate them appropriately. It doesn’t protect children to ignore the reality of the world they are about to enter, it actually puts them in danger of becoming a victim to it.

What a load of rambling rubbish..... is this a real programme ? I'm also surprised Fiona continued with the interview after that introduction. Sense of humour or not. Age appropriate learning.

Just shows what low level academics teachers are. They are supposed to understand child development and clearly haven't a clue.
@albfromeng

That’s a ridiculous and offensive statement. Primary school teachers care for children in the times their parents cannot and do a pretty damn good job considering the employment rate
@photostockcanada

@@albfromeng So does a nanny and the kid next door that babysits. Teachers are supposed to understand child development and maturation, and comprehend the different levels of cognitive development that a child goes through. They are supposed to know that little kids believe everything they are told and don't go home and do a research paper on what they have been taught.
@albfromeng
@albfromeng 27 күн бұрын
@@photostockcanada I’m confused what your point is. Kids should be given the correct tools so that they can live happy lives, and they need to be appropriately introduced to topics (that are sometimes deemed uncomfortable) to protect them from harm as they enter and experience adult life. The material the teachers are provided with will be fabricated by people who have great in-depth knowledge on child development.
