"Children" was created by Miles as a slower track to conclude a night's set that would calm ravers prior to their driving home as a means to reduce car accident deaths. He said he hoped the track would help stop Italy's "Saturday night slaughter."

It's interesting how I first came across this song: Sometime last year I was playing Garou: Mark of the Wolves (SNK fighting game, last Fatal Fury game) with the music turned up. I was playing as Rock Howard, so it was playing his theme. As my mother casually passes by, she pauses, and asks how I knew about Children by Robert Miles since it was released before I was even born (I'm a late 90s kid). I glance at her in confusion, and explained that I'm playing a Japanese fighting game and have no idea what she's talking about. She insisted that the song that was playing (which was Rock Howard's theme, titled "Spread the Wings") sounded like a different rendition of "Children". I was so confused at first and told her that she must be mistaken. Long story short, after hearing both side by side, I now perfectly understand what she meant and why she thought of "Children". The main motifs/melody is almost **identical** across both tracks. See for yourself: kzbin.info/www/bejne/mWOtlpSFp9iIic0 Looks like someone at SNK in the late 90s was heavily influenced by Robert Miles. Anyway, this cover was phenomenal Erock!!

Is this the “eat your heart out”, virtuosic STEVE VAI/JOE SATRIANI version of a brilliant trance dance club, keyboard piece, “Children”? l think Roberto Concina will be listening👍👆. According to the composer it started as an acoustic guitar piece but this is at another level. 👍💕 Thanks for the all the fingerboard wizardry on what I would call a non-ergonomically friendly guitar! 🤣. I’ll have to work it out on a Strat?🧐…sometime🤣
