There was a time when the police in Russia, particularly in areas with tourists, would walk to anyone walking on the street and ask them to show passports or IDs, then they'd give you a choice between bribing them or taking you to jail for 8 hours until they figured out who you were, if you didn't have one on you. But here it's just the douchebags trying to intimidate the guys by telling them they aren't police and have no authority over them.

You should always bring a bicykle when doing this. When they start driving, let it go under the car. If the car is damaged, the driver is at fault. If the bicykle is damaged, the car driver is also at fault. But the best is that the car will get stuck and cannot go forward if there is a bike stuck under the wheel.

After viewing dozens of these videos it is clear to me that the ordinary Joe in Russia enjoys a lot more freedom than Americans when it comes to confrontations with the cops. If a regular American talked back to cops the way these guys do he'd find himself in handcuffs in a NY minute. These Ivans ignore cops, tell them to park their cars legally etc. Imagine, fellow Americans, if you were to go up to a cop car and tell the cop to "move your car; you are parked illegally". At the very least the 'peace officer' would tell you to get lost. At the most he'd lock you up for either 'harassment' or 'making terroristic threats' or "interfering with governmental administration" (that last one is very popular in the States lately) I may move from NY to Moscow.
