It is the basic right of each child to be seen IN their talent.
We need to create educational environments that enable each child to be in their talent. And help people to give words to children for their talent when they are in their talent.
What is talent? A definition in four layers.
There is only talent when it is seen by others.
There are two issues when one talks about educational environments:
- the difference between normal and abnormal
- educational environments only match with some talents
We started an international movement of talent whisperers who help children discover their talents (Belgium, the Netherlands, Curacao, Bonaire and South Afrika).
Imagine a world where each child is seen in their talent. Finding a context to bring their talent to action.
Not every child will become a star, but every child can shine.
Luk Dewulf studied Educational Sciences and he is a pioneer in strengths- and talent- based thinking in The Netherlands and Belgium.
His book “Go with your talent” came out in 2009, recently the 22nd edition was published. His ideas are widely spread, both in education and in business. Besides that, he is the author of the book “Help, my batteries are getting low”, a book about burn-out that won the award of ‘Best Learning & Development book of 2012” in Belgium.
He is an enthusiastic speaker that inspires and touches his audience.
Together with his colleague Els Pronk, he founded a growing international movement of Children’s Talent Whisperers that help children to discover their talents. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at www.ted.com/tedx

No criticizing here, but you’re stating the obvious. Which is what everyone already knows… “do what you love”. What you do that is amazing, is clearly define what we already believe in a way that is easy to understand. That’s the true definition of someone with true and real intelligence. When you can take any matter complex of simple, and define it in a way, or explain it in a way that a child can understand.

This is a problem… this is one of the most important videos I have ever seen in regards to the development of kids talents, which in turn will be the most important block in enhancing our world and it has less than 5k views within 3yrs. 3 days ago club Shay Shay had on Katt Williams and he went in on fellow comedians. It nearly broke the internet with 27+ mil views in 3 days.

I really enjoyed watching your video, Luk. I regularly visit schools to draw with children and I always try my best to encourage their talents, even those without an obvious one. Thanks for the explanation of different types. Brilliant!
