makes you wonder how the hell he does all that on the guitar while fucking singing. on top of that, his tone is relatively clean and dry by metal standards. no delay, no reverb, no neck pickup, amp gain's not cranked. just a bridge pickup through maybe a noise gate and then into an amp. having a simple setup like his means there are fewer things to cover up his mistakes but he still manages to play accurately and sing at the same time. he's a fucking national treasure.
@dzonyyya3 жыл бұрын
Hundreds of thousands of hours practicing. People close to him say that he was literally playing all the time, didn't eat, didn't sleep, just play guitar. I wish that I had that much time to practice, though, but real-life stuff gets in the way a lot of times...

@@noodlehair6566 No doubts about that. These early albums of theirs have so many nuances in playing and compositions as a whole. Even the smallest things like palm-muted notes and how he always plays the repeated song sections just a bit differently every time so that they aren't 100% exact. Touch of a master, indeed. I guess there is nothing else to say but listen to the music to honor the man himself. Cheers!

Damn, what a performance! This was the golden age of CoB, and also the golden age for Finnish metal! The early 2000's was the time when all my favourite bands like CoB, Nightwish, Ensiferum, Wintersun and Finntroll started to gain success. It's sad that I was so young back then (in elementary school), otherwise I would have gone to see these bands as much as possible.

When that guitarist on the right left the band, they definitely lost something. Hate crew deathroll was the peak of the band. A zero filler album that had the increased aggression and less cheesy feel of the newer outfit but still maintained the neoclassical elements as well. I know people prefer older albums over HCD but it definitely fits my palette best. Not a cheese metal guy. Those older songs sound way better here in a live setting with Alexis much improved vocals from this time period as opposed to late 90s. Great concert footage here. RIP Alexi.

I just noticed how the distortion (from lee jackson) allu uses here is so much better compared to new engl/marshall one. Too much of gain can fuck your playing and in the end your whole technic. I have been downgrading my distortin for like a year now and feels like there is no going back. It is not the dynamics necesary but the ability to play clearly without mistakes and hearing notes instead a buzz. And when i was 13y this was the show on finnish tv that got me in to cob, metal and guitar. Never regret. :')
