Great plan and the kids go home to a locked empty house, because the Parents are out trying to earn a living! Least in the School you know they are safe and have washrooms as well as possibility of food. You can't please everyone, so you keep the kids as safe as you can. Back in the 80's they never used to close the schools unless was severe Freezing Rain or 10 inches or more snow in the forecast.

There was one day where the A.C on the top floor of my school went out just before school started and instead of contecting the parents and letting them know about it they just decided not to let the parents know and keep school opened. The top floor was were the seniors were. There were kids in the bathroom trying to find ways to keep cool meanwhile I'm leaving class several times to go to the bathroom cause I kept feeling like I was gonna throw up. And here's the thing before anyone askes "Well why didn't you call home and let your parents know what was going on?" my mom said I can't call home to get out of school unless I threw up three times. And there was a rule against having water bottles in class unless you have a note from a doctor saying that you can have a water bottle in class. I had a water bottle but I had to keep it in my locker.

@@mystic_robert55 Well there's a cheating trick where you put the answers to tests on the inside of the waterbottle label.
