The “welcome to the dead mom’s club” is sooo universal I appreciated that moment so much lol. Also from last ep with the fork/purse - my take is that if utensils are left on the ground when dropped and purses are just strewn around, then maybe the place could be perceived as not that nice or put together. Hence why some places do hooks or have places to leave things like that or doing coatcheck, and why Richie got those fancy purse stools

leaving a fork on the ground etc. is something that Michelin star reviewers do to test different aspects of the restaurant, to see how fast they can respond/their attentiveness. Richie looking at the fork prob meant that he realized they had already been reviewed.

Michelin reviewers may do that but it's not a "Michelin test", that's a misconception created by the movie "Burnt". A fork on the floor is a crude measurement of attentiveness of staff anyway, Michelin reviewers look for much subtler clues.
