Me, on the outside: “I’m fine” *remembers the “AI and the female brain” tape* Me, on the inside: “Damn it...the first example of empathy she gives is “love for a child”, plus Strangelove’s affirmation that she wants to live and meet new people...considering her final actions for Hal’s well being...she really did what she told Snake...she decided to continue on living and be a loving mother for Hal...who indeed turned out to be the hope she wanted to give to the world...” Also...I can’t believe that being there an obvious affection between her and The Boss people to this day say it was one-sided...jeez

Strangelove did the right thing protecting Hal from his bastard of a father. Huey was an absolute coward who tried to put the blame of his own actions onto others. He even used his own fucking child as a guinea pig to test Sahelanthropus' cockpit for god's sake! That, and he made fun of Big Boss for believing in Santa Claus, so that just adds to him being an asshole.

kingdomcome3914 I love all of the interactions with Strangelove in Peace Walker but that one is probably my favorite. It’s a cute Easter egg to long time fans, and it gives an important point to Peace Walker, sibce Strangelove’s comments about GW and the future of AI recontectualize what we saw in MGS2 and MGS4. Showing us that we could’ve had an iRobot situation of sentient machines, and the philosophies and dreams of Alan Turing, The Boss, and Doctor Strangelove, but the ruling class and military strategists deemed it more efficient and important to invest in information control for the furthering of the war economy. So very Metal Gear.

I can see that Kojima took a lot of inspiration from Philip K. Dick's: Do Androids dream of electronic sheep to create Strangelove's motifs as a character, as well as Stanley Kubric films Dr. Strangelove (obviously her namesake and mentioned in the files)
@Gadget-Walkmen7 жыл бұрын
Kojima uses a lot of the conversation between the characters in the mgs series to express his love/obsession of film in it. Even using the actual movies of the inspiration for the characters talked about in the game in a meta sense like, 21:23 of Strangelove's namesake and even the conversation about 2001 space odyssey with Huey brings up the origins of Octacon's namesake as well. It's pretty cool in a meta sense. Kojima clearly made Paramedic in MGS 3 to discuss the movies he loves to the audience. :D
@noname768397 Жыл бұрын
These files is so good, you can practically imagine a scene where they were in a table talking so seriously, Strangelove sitting with crossed leg, sipping tea, Snake sitting wide one arm leaning on the table with ashtray full with his cigar dusts trying to comprehend this A.I thing. Or with cecile, snake cruising the jungle but keep distracted with cecile talking about nothing and everything, also sometimes he barges into snake office complaining about miller, or with chico, in relaxed state holding a picture while chico ecstaticly talks about animals

@@MaskedRider_FAIZ Strangelove was focused on AI having empathy. Since she died before she could do more work for the Patriots AIs, the project was handed over to Donald Anderson and DARPA, who focused on self-analysis, data analysis, and self-growth, rather than the ability to empathise with humans.

I wonder what her thoughts would have been about the film Blade Runner, of course she mentioned the novel it's based off of by Philip K. Dick ``Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep", but I would've liked to hear what her view was about it. The original was released in 1982 but she died in 1983. So there might be a chance she's at least heard of it, at the same time however there is even a larger probability that she's never taken time out of her schedule to have seen it. Given that she was most likely working under Skullface at that point in time if I understand the MGS timeline correctly.
