Bath tubs are great for making into carnivorous plant bog gardens.

Haha, you have problems. I potted up 50 chillies and peppers yesterday into their final pots. I am dancing around the garden finding places for them 😂

50! absolutely dreamy. I'm not actually sure how many I have this year. Possibly around 40?

This video really made me chuckle, it sounded just like me when I"m tackling a big project! We could almost hear you verbalising your exact thought processes as they occured, and what really made me laugh was, "I 'could' read the instructions but I'm actually just basing it all on vibes!" 🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣

Appart from the chillis rhere doesn't seem to be much planting in the raised beds you have made. Perhaps we need a plot tour PLEEEEEEEEASE 😁
@JBNat7 ай бұрын
Yes Carol definitely still lots of empty beds. A mixture of me being a bit lax to get a few things out but mostly just the seedlings still being slow from our grey grey spring. I think by the end of May it will be starting to really fill up!

why not just raise the bathtub onto tressles or make a frame for it to sit on 👍👍 chilli pepper empire and an evil little laugh at the end ,, love it

Your chilli empire looks great - so many chillies - and yes they are looking good aren't they?

Very happy this year!
@PreatorRaszagal7 ай бұрын
Feels like you probably should put them directly in the divider instead of the 1 liter pots so they grow as big as tours while in the dividers? Haha "turn into a chillihouse" 😄What did you do to your index finger? 😱I agree that potting up always seem to take much longer than you think hehe. My plants look so tiny compared to yours, but then I remember that (apart from 2 or 3) mine are all Chinense, and if I compare my Chinense with yours they are about the same! Phew! 🤣Will be fun to see how all the experiment turns out in the JB Chilli Empire this season!
@JBNat7 ай бұрын
oh yes poor explanation by me again, I didn't leave them in the 1 litre pots as well! Well spotted on my finger, I sliced it open on the bathtub at the end of filming my chilli guide 😂 I cut the expletives too hahaha. Nothing serious though thankfully.

Interesting video, glad you know what you are doing! You remind me of my potting up of tomatoes ! What mix of compost do you use ? Always enjoy your videos as you are so cheerful even when down, if you know what I mean. Thanks

Thank you so much! I discuss the potting mix recipe at the end of the last chilli guide video :) It's timestamped in the description, so easy to jump to

Hi JB - have you switched compost from Sylvagrow to something else? Interested to understand why, and what you are using for this potting up stage. I have had great results from Sylvagrow so far and all my early superhots are now in their final pot sizes with Sylvagrow as the main compost component.
@JBNat7 ай бұрын
Nope, still using Sylvagrow as my main growing medium! I have started a compost trial with other bags too though, just to see how things do :)

Do you have to replace the capillary matting each season or can you just wash it??
@stewartw73027 ай бұрын
It is recommended that they are renewed every year. However, I didn’t know this to start with and used them again the following year. End result, the water wasn’t lifted as well, leaving the pots slightly under watered. I now renew every year and cut my own from bulk capillary matting.
@mags95367 ай бұрын
Oh OK. Better get ordering more. Thanks@@stewartw7302
@JBNat7 ай бұрын
At the end of the season mine look more like plant roots than capillary matting so they're not very re-usable!
