I could only imagine it's amazing any of those vehicles could run efficiently enough to do some serious 4x4ing while injecting that much smoke into the system. A lot of those guy (and women I know and have a female friend that was wild land firefighters) go in on foot. Imagine that but being on foot and 5-10 miles from a vehicle. The firefighters driving through the wildfire and slowly becoming trapped was one of the scariest things I’ve ever watched. @@anthonyfoutch3152 One of my distant cousins that I actually never met, got tangled up his teens with a neighbourhood gang in London’s east end. The gang and it’s youthful members were known for their fearful and ruthless shenanigans. After a short time with the street gang my cousin decided he would start a fire in his own family home to stop his family from interfering and telling him it was unsafe and unhealthy to have friends like this. But no he ignored everyone and decided to place a lit petrol soaked cloth through the front door letter box. The fire in an old building like that took hold in seconds. Not all the family were able to escape. His younger sister perished in the fire, trapped upstairs in her bedroom, while his younger brother was eventually rescued but left with permanent irreparable life changing injuries. Hi parents were ok but it was no consolation to losing their only daughter aged just 9 years old. My cousin was sentenced to a ‘life term’ in a psychiatric facility where he spent the next ten years of his life before committing suicide seven years ago due to the immense guilt for what pain he’d caused his family. We never truly know from which direction the paths of our lives are going to take us. I just pray however that whatever I’ve chosen to do, it is right, but without harming others. Although should myself or anyone else become endangered they have the trust and respect other people to aid them when necessary.

I’ve often lamented the fact that here in the US, so much attention, praise & entitlement is given to & assumed by law enforcement, that when they die on duty, the depts will shut down streets & even highways, for the procession to the funeral. But, that never happens for fire fighters. They seem to be ignored by the media. They are brave men & women, much more brave than cops, imo. And yet, they’re not running around espousing being in fear of their lives, wanting to “make it home to their families” all the time. They’re not trying to force everyone to respect them for THEIR CHOICE of careers. I wish fire fighters got more credit for what they do & the unassuming way they do it. Real heroes.

@@novice5895 In the UK we seem to have a lower level of outpouring when a fireman dies too. You’ll see the crews that cover that station do a procession and go to the funeral but that’s it. And it’s not uncommon for them to abandon the funeral if there’s a sudden emergency shout. I recall my aunt saying my uncle was always at his most quiet after a shout where children had died. It’s only in recent years that firemen and police officers are offered counselling after distressing situations at work. I know there’s no way on earth I could mentally handle seeing a child die and then have to bring out their remains. Back in 2012 when that heinous man mick philpott (his name doesn’t deserve capital letters) deliberately set his house on fire in Derby UK and ended up killing all six of his kids was a dark day for all our firemen, the whole of our country for that matter. If my uncle had been alive I don’t know how he would have reacted to that. I know my aunt was deeply disturbed and it played on her mind for a long time. It was a sickening act and all the fire crews were offered counselling afterwards. I know it’s bad enough for anyone to die in a fire, but small children?? Given life just to have it taken away in such a horrific way.

Banditos!'... so I went. I was already doing 70 across a black desert in the middle of the night and I guess they heard the engine racing because the dudes jumped out of the road and I blew through their impromptu roadblock doing over 100 sending their little wooden stick probably a quarter mile down the road in pieces. I just got done driving semi through the mountains in PA. That dude skidding out of the tunnel in CA realized my worst nightmares

Exactly! If that had happened in a semi , the driver would have been TOAST!!

That guy holding a “metal object” running towards the car in front of him would’ve met head on the back of my car as I would’ve floored it backing up. 3:58

Nah, what he did was wrong but what the driver did was right. Just get out of there fast. No need to damage your car when you can just go.
