Here you see my full install at my home and I did this over a few weeks.
first looking with a drone at what I had up there and deciding what I needed.
1 x Pot and seal up the other three fully with domed concrete as that was unnecessary water ingress.
Then letting the chimney pot mortar go off and doing repairs to my top coarse of chimney bricks. Tidying up my hearth, researching how you do this all and what's best practice. Room vent if needed, ventilation assisting draw etc. Bought all this stuff off the internet but measured and checked twice. Also i made a mock up stove with a box for the exact look n size.
You need buildings control tobe informed and inspected when fitting atleast 10 days before and with possible photographic evidence and mid fitment inspection if necessary. Be mindful of the area you live in for clean emissions.
Why do I need a DEFRA approved stove? If you live in a UK city, or large town that is classified as a Smoke Controlled Area, you will need a DEFRA Smoke Exempt Appliance to allow you to burn wood without breaking the law.
HETAS website for advice/guidelines and seek qualified installers for installation sign off certificates. deffinatly have a carbon monoxide detector in the same room and your HETAS engineer will place a fitting plaque/plate with details of the stove details registration near your electric consumer board.
Contact a chimney sweep for sweeping your brick chimney and then line it and seek advice from the chimney sweep on fitment, stove size, ventilation, HETAS sign off
Turned out well and I'm pleased with it.
