Chimps attack other animals in group,they co ordinate their attack,but gorillas,even if they outnumber chimps,they cant win against them,cause gorillas depend upon the alpha male of their group to fight and save others,so even if there were 8 gorillas and 6 chimps,all 6 chimps will be fighting,but only 1 or 2 gorillas will be defending

Part of the misconception stems from the use of juvenile chimps in movies and TV. By the time a chimp becomes 4 or 5 years old, it develops incredible strength (up to four times as strong as a human); coupled with a burgeoning independent streak, chimps become impossible to handle, so only baby and juvenile chimps were used. It took me years before I saw a grown adult chimp and realized how big they actually are and how aggressive they can be.

No, an army. They are our closest relatives. Apparently our common ancestor was a savage brute that created war parties/armies and conducted organized raids and attacks on groups considered competition. Chimps and Humans share this sort of behavior. Gorillas clearly do not. Apparently, this is a set of behavioral traits that evolved in the Chimp/Human Apes after the split with the common ancestor with Gorillas. Now, we know why Chimps and Gorillas are confined to West Africa, all those fossils of Chimplike protohumans are the evidence, for the last 6 million years or so, all the territory East of them was filled with equally deadly relatives walking around on two legs with equally strong arms and bodies, the Australopiths, and Ardipiths, but who used weapons more effectively, and were smarter. I think Gorillas, Chimps, and Bonobos where doomed to the limited range, when the Chimp relatives jumped down out of trees and decided to live on the ground, became slightly smarter, and better at running and fighting upright than any Chimp. Maybe, that is the missing reason human ancestors developed upright walking, it frees the hands to better grab a stone or tree branch and brain a Chimp trying to knuckle walk and fight them anyway. It might have conferred a combat advantage. Maybe when Chimps tried to pull this trick on Australopithecus Afarensis, they turned the tables on them, and won the war, like humans often do vs other creatures and when fighting each other. If they had fist sized rocks in their hands and used customized sticks for weapons, and had the numbers, which is possible given how hominids seemed to be better adapted than Chimps at harvesting available resources, which means more food, and more individuals. It might have been, not hunting, but war with Chimp relatives that started the evolution of Humans. Not "man, the hunter", but "man, the warrior".It could have started like this, a whole large population of protochimp/humans then the climate shifts or resources get to where there isn't enough to spread around. There is already variety in the population, in the Eastern part of the population, there are strange mutants who walk upright better than normal, and have mutated hands that are better than normal for tool creation and use. They also have smaller canines than usual, but the enhanced tool making and use ability more than makes up for that. They've even been able to clobber Leopards trying to hunt and kill them on rare occasions, then the war began because this is what Chimps do when there's not enough to go around. The mutants won in the East where the their bodies are better suited to surviving in that Environment, the Chimps held on in West Africa, but were trapped, knowing their tool using, upright walking relatives would slaughter them. Then human evolution proceeds as the fossil record shows, Australopiths giving way to Homo Erectus, the stage that is amazing one can get to from a Chimp level creature, modern Homo Sapiens is merely a more refined form of Homo Erectus, the evolutionary trends that created Homo Erectus, simply continued. Actually, Humanity's domination of the world and the other creatures was already inevitable, with the development of Homo Erectus, not those small primitive small brained things found in Georgia recently, but rather, the 1.6 million year old teenaged boy they found most of the skeleton of. With his human form and sized body, and far beyond Chimp sized brain. This is where the Chimps really were no match. A battle between such a troop of Chimps, and a warrior/hunting party of 50 Homo Erectus would have been a slaughter, the Homo Erectus tribe probably would have had a lot of Chimp meat to eat that night.

@@Thecoldwind650 It would be cool if they operated that way. However, Gorilla social organization is 1 dominant male Silverback, 2 his harem, 3 his immature children by the females, once the males develop enough, like with Lions, it's time for them to go. Chimps are taking advantage of this fact, they know they will only be facing a single fully grown male, and a bunch of females, and "children", they are absolutely being humanlike in this war, it's genocidal, killing the baby Gorillas means the population will shrink once the current generation of adults die off. Soon Conservationists will have stop the Chimps because Gorillas are endangered and in decline already, this can't be allowed to continue. They are going to have to get some people to get over there and get between the Chimps and Gorillas and STOP them from killing any more baby Gorillas.

@@jonathancummings6400 That's not true. Humans are not relatives to Chimps nor Primate's. Just because we share certain close genes, doesn't mean we are Related. Scientists have concluded that we did not evolve from apes. Turns out ? that our apparent genetic closeness does not mean that we are that closely related to chimps at all. Homo sapiens and Pan troglodytes share an extraordinary amount of genetic similarity - yet humans and mice share almost as much. Complete genomes of both species are enabling researchers to map the chasm between human and chimp, which seems to deepen by the year. A good example is FOXP2, a regulatory gene linked to speech and language disorders in humans. FOXP2 in chimps has barely changed in the 130 million years since primates and mice diverged from their common ancestor. Now going by the Creater ? Adam did not derived from an ape. Image of God, is there for obvious reasons. It's also common knowledge if one gives it some thought.
@jonathancummings6400
@jonathancummings6400 2 жыл бұрын
@@Misael8924 Primates and Mice did not diverge from a common ancestor 130 million years ago. Mice are Rodents, Rodents and Lagomorphs are the two groups more closely related to Primates than any other groups of Mammals. The common ancestor was probably some burrowing, ground living, mouse/rat- like omnivore, that lived in the late Cretaceous. Even the earliest Primates are Squirrel-like Tree living organisms. In short, a more generic organisms in our group, like a Mouse, can evolve into a Primate, like a Lemur, and a Lagomorph, like a Rabbit, and a more derived Rodent, like a Squirrel. Humans are merely super Chimps in most ways. We even have similar behavior attributes, like this love of War. We have superior intelligence, so eventually we were able to wage WW2, and develop the Nuclear weapon, while they merely still only terrorize Gorillas competing with them for food.

As we know Chimps and bonobos are our closest relatives, but they tend to behave quite differently when one group encounters another. When two groups of chimps have an encounter, there's likely to be a war. When two groups of bonobos have an encounter, there is a party. Human apes seem to possess both qualities.

What are shown in movies as docile and comical chimps, are in fact the smaller species called Bonobos. Chimpanzees are larger, muscular, omnivorous and are known to be the most aggressive of the great apes, that regularly feed on deers, smaller monkeys and even gang up and destroy adversaries like baboons and leopards. They generally coexist peacefully with gorillas, respecting their strength, ferocity and agility. This is therefore a very surprisingly violent exchange with gorillas. It could have been triggered by competition for food or territory resulting from natural habitat loss through human encroachment, drought, climate change or something that's forcing greater regular territorial interspecies exchanges.

That's the thing though. Where do we draw the line? Sure we can try to basically undo or prevent anything bad in nature regardless of whether or not it's our fault, but then we'd literally be going against natural selection itself. Some species get dealt a bad hand and don't last long. If people are so determined to "intervene with nature" (as if we aren't a part of it) then it's best to stick with what WE caused.
@maniakick21
@maniakick21 Жыл бұрын
The fight happens because of smaller area to scavenge for both species. Smaller area = larger chance of getting in contact also fight for resource. Chimps are targeting the baby as to not make their competitors increase in population. How to fix this? Welp decrease human population as to give way to natures recovery. Altho encounter will still happen as they increase in size. But ill take apes taking by nature by giving back without destroying than human overpopulating everything and welp take everything until the last tree. Sadly if we really love nature we should focus on controlling our population from now on.

@@maniakick21 , those "humans" are Black Africans from countries like DR Congo, Rep Congo and Gabon, people who live in the most extreme poverty conditions & who have been continuously, even to this day, sabotaged by the Western World. This is exactly what they talk about "living in a bubble" or showing off "privilege". Your solution is for (literally) the poorest & most discriminated-against people in the planet to "create conscience", "get educated" & "stop reproducing".

@@luislatinoman7055 , natural selection is not any sort of sacred entity that we cannot challenge. In fact, the rule "don't intervene" is nothing else than a human-made idea: we decide where to draw the line, not nature.
