His only weapon is his punch power which would really hurt a chimp ( + steel knuckles, because why not ). Mike wins 6/10 while chimp wins 7/10. The patient was a 10 year old female, who was only about 170 pounds'; not that dissimilar to a human male. The amazing thing about the surgery, was that the surgeons kept incising deeper expecting to encounter the abdominal cavity, but there was just layer upon layer of muscle. The actual abdominal cavity was the size of a child's, but there was about 3-4x thicker muscle, encasing and protecting her. I can only imagine what a 400 pound silver' back's musculature is like.

Well, it’s because their muscles work slightly differently from ours. Putting aside the pure density, the muscles of gorillas and chimpanzees activate in FAR greater percentages as compared to humans. This makes them very strong, but also reduces their coordination: human hands are better for fine, careful movement. And that makes sense; that’s kind of our whole shtick, instead of beating something to death we would just make a sharp-stone tipped spear and throw it at our target

Bodybuilding and powerlifting require different body. Generally (nothing 100%) power lifters need short limbs and a long torso, while bodybuilders need long limbs and a shorter torso. Also, bodybuilders look a lot better if they have small joints (makes the muscles between look bigger). Which is exactly what you don't want to powerlift. Different goals.

While all the things about the diet and his muscles are true, the very foundation of the gorillas strength is his bone size and structure. I stood once in a museum and there was a human skeleton nearby a gorilla skeleton. One of the major misconception is we think about size either in terms of body height or in terms of mass (in flesh), but the truth is, the bones of the gorilla are massively big! At least 2-3 times the circumfrance of the human bones, which allows him to have much bigger sinews and therefore build up bigger muscles too. And his muscles of course are not only big, but due to its wild lifestyle the meat is red and allows for more oxygen to be carried. I think a silverback is far stronger than 4 times average human male. Its proven that even a chimp is far stronger than a man
@souldesire59322 жыл бұрын
I think that's why Wilt Chaimberlan was so strong. It wasn't the outward fleshly muscles, although of course they matter. But the overall skeleton and bone density that made him so strong. Same with other species, it's not so much the muscles, although the fibers can work differently, but the skeletal structure and density.

They let the Gorilla out and in no time, he found a new plaything. He stood flatfooted and with his right arm pulled that spring across his mighty chest. ONE PULL and the spring was ruined. I believe the word is 'flaccid'. It just sort of hung there---ruined---the Gorilla got bored and went over to the other side of the compound and started twisting car tires into figure '8's'. I pissed Him off once when no one was around, I would make mean faces at Him thru the glass. He was about 20 feet away, He put up with Me for a little while then charged the glass and hit it. False, gorilla's have a Bite force superior to any big cat out there and it doesn't need 30 minutes to kill a human
@JT-km6th3 жыл бұрын
@@SouthDraftCorp it is well documented that they are so poor at using their teeth to bite (not predators) that despite their brute strength and bite force, it can take UP TO 30 mins to kill a human. Gorillas are not killers and have no finesse. A gorilla with a lion's brain however is a different story. You have poor reading comprehension, I did not say they had a weaker bite than big cats, and I said up to.

Gorillas aren't built to tear mammals apart with their mouths like cats are though so you expect that

@@JT-km6th The chances of a gorilla chomping on you to kill you is pretty slim. You're more likely to have all your bones shattered and your skull crushed. If the gorillas teeth were shaped for killing, no doubt their bite would be deadly, but they eat plants mostly
@JT-km6th3 жыл бұрын
@@Cptnballsac See, you go off what you think, I'm going on documented cases. It's called science. Gorillas use their teeth FAR more than you think, and even though they have a strong bite, they aren't good killers, highly inefficient.

I remember a short-lived show called Man versus Beast. I never saw a person face off against a silverback in a competition, but I did see an orangutan versus a Sumo wrestler in a rope tug of war. They faced off from across a mud pit, each on their own dock. The Sumo wrestler was about twice the size of the orangutan. I swear, the Sumo wrestler pulled with all his might for about a minute or so, not managing to budge the primate. Then the orangutan decides it's had enough, and it pulls the rope tight. The Sumo guy was dragged some ten feet out into the muck! He had zero chance. I can see an ape pulling a person's arms out of their sockets in addition to the mud bath! kzbin.info/www/bejne/j3ewoYqja6p2nbM

@@CeeDoubleU UFC fighters' strength lies in striking and grappling. Sumo wrestlers' strength mainly lies in pushing. Strongmen specialize in lifting and pulling. A strongman should've been used for a tug of war rather than a Sumo wrestler.

@@CeeDoubleU if you fight for a living your main focus isn’t gonna be mainly strength. Also have you seen what happened when those Sumo wrestlers went into the cage? They got beat down even by the small guys.

Indeed - and denser muscle than ours. Even Eddie Hall wouldn't stand a chance against a healthy gorilla of the same weight.
