Of Historical interest. ABC anchor Frank Reynolds introduces a report on China Vice Premier Deng Xiaoping's visit to America. The visit in late January, early February 1979 followed the normalization of US-China diplomatic relations. These excerpts for educational purposes only include an edit of two reports.... the top of one from Houston and a reflection on lighter moments of the Deng visit after the state visit was complete.

This guy is so politically savvy I wish more politicians are like him. This is actually a guy whom I can actually RESPECT for a politician. Even though he made mistakes, he did the best he could given the cultural context.

@David Most Chinese political analysts believe that Deng was not the guy who ordered the attack.

I think the largest estimation is around 2600 deaths. By no mean justifies what happened but lets not fight evil with lies.

Wrong. Jimmy Carter destroyed America along with Richard Nixon, JFK, LBJ, and Ronald Reagan. They opened up foreigners coming into our country, stealing our manufacturing jobs, and changing the American culture by destroying old buildings and items.

"No matter the black or white cat, as long as he can catch a rat means he is a good cat" (Meaning) no matter whether communists or capitalists who are important can prosper the people. (a combination of communists and liberalists in China)

In what language do you pronounce Deng as “Dong”? Stupid as stupid does, there are more than one sound for e in English, none is pronounced as /O/!
