Drone View JA, you've raised the bar for coverage of the construction of the road network in Jamaica. I hope the other vloggers watch your channel and learn something from your coverage. They need to speak proper English and stop using so many cliche. Your coverage is like a well put together documentary.

Wow!! This is the best presentation of the Melrose Bypass leg. I think the project is delayed due to the addition of the entrance/exit at Glenmuir road. Also, I think the drainage at the yam park came about due to heavy rain, showing the contractors that it is needed. It doesn't matter when the project is completed, as long as it's properly done. Patience is a virtue!

One option for the yampark is to establish another yam park in that wide space that’s just a few hundred feet up the road on the Mandeville bound side.

Julian My Brother! Thank you for presenting another excellent and vibrant Birdseye View motion picture Video Vlog of that Brilliant "four lane Highways"! Now pertaining to the completion time i predicted witch is within the first, "(1/4 of 2024)" When i say that i mean the whole project from "May PEN to Williams Fields"! Remember now and Lison carefully i said within the first "(1/4)" of the new year witch will be next year! Within that "(1/4)" it could be January, or February, or it could be march! And that's my opinion! And who knows they may step up their games and Luckly flood the, work sight with more workers and more equipment's to get the job done on time any thing is possible! But there's one thing i know nothing never done before the right time!!!😎🌎🛣🌄🎥🎞

Don't think this will be finished by August 2023. Why is the drainage an after thought and not in the original plan? The Yam Park would have been a beautiful rest stop if they had split the road around the park instead of where they split it. I hope they widen the road to 3 lanes at the corner up to the Yam Park as this seem to be the steepest spot.

The highway seems to be on track to be completed in August, I was initially hoping it would be opened by Independence weekend, but late August seems more likely. The progress at the new May Pen interchange will likely determine the completion date. In this regard, I'm looking forward to your next video of that section. In terms of Melrose Yam Park, the initial plan was to set up shops somewhere along the opposite side of the road. However, I'm not sure if that plan is still on, or if it has been scrapped.

Thanks for another great video. I believe August is about right there is still alot of work left to be done at the may pen end. They still have to join the two highways plus take out the round about and straighten back the a2 main rd. That’s a lot of work that can’t be done in 2 or 3 weeks.

One thing that concerns me, is where does the water go after it runs off the highway. There are communities in a lot of low areas near the route, so if the water is just channeled away from the highway without a regard to where it goes, it can affect peoples homes and lives. You've shown us that the highway is going to merge into two lanes. Have they started any perliminary work, that you can see, on the next stretch of the highway towards St Elizabeth as yet? You have once again provided a top-notch and very informational video of the ongoing work on this highway(and you make it interesting) and I am truly appreciative of your good. Much thanks my brother.
@droneviewja Жыл бұрын
Thanks you support as always, the next time I will fly over the area where the drains are, i have heard that the other phase of the highway has been through it's preliminary work.
@nigelhiggins1577 Жыл бұрын
There's vegetation in much of that area which will likely absorb some of the water. Plus, most of that area is limestone, which will allow a significant amount of water to seep through before flooding takes place. I think there would've been a greater concern if the area was urban.
@donaldbarnett156 Жыл бұрын
That needs not be a major concern as the geological features of that area allow for the water to soak away into underground pockets. That’s why you don’t see flooding in most of Manchester and other areas of Jamaica that have that bauxite soil combined with limestone . There’s a lot of sinkholes that collect the water runoff. Plus that type of soil doesn’t get saturated.

My brother drove the open parts of the road less than a week ago and he asked if people will have to drive though May Pen town to then get back on to the highway? Will this be a toll? because the original bypass was pretty good too. Or I hope they at least fix back the old road as well!! What we needed was a highway to Ochi or Negril. Also exactly how will we enter the yam park from the other side and I hate the fact you can't even turn around. I live here and I don't find this at all that interesting because we have plenty of other roads that need to be fix
@droneviewja Жыл бұрын
Ok, this section of Melrose Bypass is not a toll road, and we do have a highway to Ochi called the North To South Highway. To enter the Yam Park going up Melrose Bypass you have to drive up to Williamsfield roundabout and back down the hill, it makes no sense right.
@justbdsd4569 Жыл бұрын
@@droneviewja I know that highway but I thought maybe a highway through Christiana would be faster. Yeah and for Yam Park that would make no sense lol. Thanks for the video :)

In my opinion, this highway will be fully completed by the fall of 2023. I drove the area about 4 times since last week, Thursday. From what I've seen at the May Pen bridge, entrance and exit ramps, and the drainage system improvement up the Melrose bypass, there is no way this highway can be fully completed before November of 2023. And that's not taking into consideration a tropical storm or a hurricane that could come into play.
@nigelhiggins1577 Жыл бұрын
Two of the three drains on Melrose are virtually finished based on the recent update, by DVJa. In terms of the large drain, most of the casting seems to be finished, it seems as if the workers were removing the formwork. If that is the case, it's unlikely they'll take more than two months to complete the remaining work. As it relates to the May Pen underpass at the interchange, it was seemingly halfway complete based on the last video I saw. However, maybe I'm mistaken and overly optimistic about the completion date of the highway.

Iove how u bring across the entire highway project's in Jamaica but my problem is the Manchester legs is almost complete and the St Thomas highway is still struggling to reach it peak what is the difference with these mega projects the St Thomas leg is lagging behind badly is it the local contractors gragging the project to milk it off millions of dollars this project need to speed up it's taking far too long to finish
@rhf457 Жыл бұрын
You can't compare this highway with the St Thomas one as more than 50 % of the St Thomas highway is on existing roads and need to accommodate the usual traffic which cause much delays etc
@droneviewja Жыл бұрын
You said it yourself correctly, we need to learn that when we take from the projects we are taking from the people.
@fitzroyfrancis7896 Жыл бұрын
I think they need 2 to 3 more months. The May Pen interchange is the bottleneck right now. But pus the Tol both area still need some me time in addition to that Melrose massive drain

U joking right? No the August date if a bit uncertain because of the toll plaza and the major correction that they are having to do at May Pen. I saw that coming from the start ; how could you remove a major roundabout with replacing it with an interchange? What were they thinking?
