The 'fresh' flour one is something that happened in Europe too centuries ago. Bakers would mix stuff with the dough for the poorest people, because sand is free and it would not cost resources.

No, it didnt happened. Bread was protected by law in europe even centuries ago. edit. even if it didnt, local communites would punish baker who mix something inedible into flour
@gamernerd71394 ай бұрын
@@michadunski3508 And that punishment is often swift, life changing adn public. So no one else dares. How little Europeans know about their own medieval history! Village bakers did not create the dough. It was created by the families and then given to the village baker for baking. Often the village had only one baking kiln which was shared by all poor families. Energy was more expensive and inaccessible than grain. Again wheat was not that prevalent also. What ever local cereal was used for bread making, often corn, barley etc... The flour was fresh often as they was no affordable storage also. My only advise to the modern European, dont be an idiot to create historical facts out of your a@#!

Flour isnt THAT expensive, and if there is a wheat shortage you can make flour out of other stuff, like acorns or chestnuts, or bake potatoes or turnips into your bread before sand, which has zero nutritional value and will ruin your teeth and whatnot. Bakers would absolutely get lynched over something like that. War or not.

It's rare - considering how many tens of thousands of bridges we have and dozens of deep water ports like Baltimore, Charleston, NY/NJ, Jacksonville - that's just East coast ports that can take the world's largest ships. Ships that can't fit through the Panama Canal. IIRC, Los Angeles is the busiest port in the world in total dollars.
