In 1570, there were maps of the Philippines that included the WPS or Spratly group of islands in the Philippines and it was mapped many times during the Spanish colony and also in the 1734 map and many more!. Even during the time of the American Colony, there were treaties regarding that area that proved that that area was covered by the Philippines. After the Philippines became independent from the American Colony, it was immediately occupied by China in 1947 through the 9 dash lines they made without treaties and without basis and especially now that their Claim is not in UNCLOS or international law. China is theirs as long as they draw a line! According to them. A Coast Guard vessel has been patrolling the area for a long time even though our ship is few and it is a fishing ground for Filipino fishermen. China's Claim is baseless!
