The CCP is already conducting military operations and acts of war, building bases and conquering islands that don't belong to them, even building islands. Harassing and attacking ships in international waters is just a cherry on top. They will keep escalating until war erupts, but by that time, they have had time to build bases and prepare so the sooner America finds its balls the better the outcome will be in a military conflict. China doesn’t recognize the tribunal ruling and says the South China Sea has been China’s territory since ancient times. So here we are with the conflict which CLEARLY SHOULD BE RESOLVED in international court where a TREATY can be drafted. On 19 February 2013, China declared that it would not participate in the arbitration. On 7 December 2014, it published a white paper to elaborate its position that, among other points, the tribunal lacks jurisdiction. In accordance with Article 3 of Annex VII of UNCLOS, the Philippines appointed 1 of the 5 arbitrators, while China did not appoint any. On 29 October 2015, the tribunal concluded that it had jurisdiction to consider seven of the Philippines' submissions, subject to certain conditions, and postponed the consideration of its jurisdiction on the other eight submissions to the merits phase. The tribunal ruling has no teeth. That’s not a mutually agreed ruling. Therefore this MUST BE RESOLVED DIPLOMATICALLY. No territory is going to relinquish claims just like that. Makes no sense. China asserts the South China Sea through a Historical claim. However, the fact remains that ancient maps from the Song Dynasty in the year 960 until the end of the Qing Dynasty in the 20th century, shows China's territorial claims ends in the Hainan island to the south. No ancient documents justifying China’s claim goes beyond those island. Moreover, the historical map of Murillo Velarde of 1696-1753 disproves China’s claim but instead strengthens further the claim of the Philippines. This was all presented and revealed in the proceedings at the 2016 Arbitral Court at The Hague which ruled in favor of the Philippines and nullified China’s “9 dash line” claim over the South China Sea. Chinese scholars and legal experts knew of this predicament of proving historical claims. This is why China refused to participate in the proceedings stating instead that the court has no jurisdiction over it. To counter the Philippines victory, China comes out with a new “10 dash line” claim over the Sea and uses military superiority and bullying against the Philippines to achieve their goal. This is a simple act of China’s greed.

This is not just a ramming. It is a calculated move by China tĺo make Philippines pull the first trigger. They want something to happen here as a dress rehearsal for Taiwan. They want war for these reasons: 1. Train their soldiers in real combat prepping for Taiwan. 2. As a much needed uniting factor for their domestic audience because they are experiencing a shrinking economy and brewing civil unrest. If they have a "common enemy" that will distract their people from their internal problems. 3. They picked Philippines to be an example to Asean because they think the Philippines is "easy and dumb". So they can gaslight and say that the Philippines started the war by being a "puppet for the US" even though they had already planned it long before. It is all calculated. 4. Very different. Japan 🇯🇵 didn’t own the South China Sea 🌊 since ancient times. Sabina Shoal. In 2016, an international tribunal at The Hague ruled that the Philippines has exclusive economic rights in a 200 miles zone that includes Sabina Shoal at the area where the ship from the Philippines was rammed. No wonder China was aggressive with the Philippines. The Philippines government didn’t play fair and China was too aggressive. All territories should be involved in the treaty to solve this dilemma.

I agree, it's the same with the Indian & Pakistani armies clashing with melee weapons. Or even you can see it in Gaza, where Israel's military has for so long trained purely for putting down small uprisings and are so rabidly doused in ideological propaganda that when they get into their conflict zone they jump straight to shooting at random people, like each other or the hostages they're supposed to be rescuing. An unprofessional army leads to rampant blue on blue casualties and a lack of coordination and that leads to having low rates of success. You can see it in the US invasion of Iraq, where there were large numbers of blue on blue incidents. Treating killing as a game leads to failure, imo
