Obviously this critic of China has zero knowledge of China. China is a socialist country and as such the people of China own the land of China and all citizens and businesses lease the land. There is no private land ownership, even for Musk. The leases are renewable and there is almost no fee for renewal. Further, except some experiments at property taxation, there is no property tax. Musk got favorable land leases and favorable taxation for his solely owned Tesla factories (2). He is building a new energy storage factory in China that provides energy storage for solar and wind systems. Yes, Tesla is facing competition, but remember, Tesla cut prices twice in China in that competition because he could do so because of efficiencies and profits gained in China's production. Half of Tesla's China production is for export and his expansion is NOT collapsing. The fact that Tesla has factories in the US, China, and the EU insulates their production from import tariffs. Americans seem to have a mindset that any inflection point in China's rise is cause to declare China is collapsing. Let me remind you of some facts. China has foreign reserves of $6 trillion. $3 trillion held in international banks and $3 trillion held in domestic banks. China once had $1.3 trillion in US treasures, but today it is about half that as China continues to sell and buy gold. China is also the biggest producer of gold in the world and keeps buying gold on the international market. The US is not. US national debt is $35 trillion and rising $1 trillion every 100 days. China's national debt is half that of the US at $17 trillion. China has invested heavily in technology and is leading in 37 out of 44 critical technologies according to the latest ASPI study and is second in the rest. China will lead the world in semiconductor production in this decade and the sanctions against Chinese semiconductor companies have all but failed. Semiconductors are the key building block for many of the advances in other technology sectors. China's secret to tech success is its manpower resources. China graduates eight times more STEM students than the US and the forecast is for it to grow to 15 times more by 2030. Also, in the US numbers of STEM graduates are about half are foreign students, dominated by Chinese, so the ratio is even greater than stated above. China has planned for the future, the US has not.

You forgot to mention a couple of small details about business in China, and its STEM babies. 1. The STEM babies, can't find jobs because manufacturing is moving offshore due to Xi's Geo-political economy policies. Not to mention, most of them are laying flat due to the 997 work requirement. STEM babies can't afford to buy a house, get married, and have kids, they are modern day slaves who support the CCP's ultra wealthy class. 2. Due to the (theft) of technology disclosure required by PRC in order to do business in china, Musk has effectively screwed himself by giving his engineering secrets away to his competitors(BYD).
