China MoFA LIVE: China's Stern Warning to the US on Taiwan As Beijing Launches Military Drills
China launched two days of military drills surrounding Taiwan in what it called a “strong punishment” to its opponents on the self-governing island, after Taiwan’s new President pledged to defend its sovereignty. This comes after Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi called Taiwanese President Lai as "disgraceful". Lai has repeatedly offered talks with China but been rebuffed. He says only Taiwan's people can decide their future, and rejects Beijing's sovereignty claims.
