That calls for one to give up leadership. Having different types of governing, culture, language, religion, etc, this is only a fanciful wish.

We always wonder why many Western countries, particularly the US, is hell bent to invest in india for manufacturing. India has proven again and again, that it is extremely terrible in manufacturing. The complicated law (tax can be demanded later), the non-existent manufacturing eco-system, the unstable electricity & water supply, the almost non-existent skilled manpower, and the horrible attitude (the clock strikes 6PM, they rushed off the factory). Case in point is when Apple wanted to manufacture iPhone "casing" (the simplest part of iphone), it failed at a whopping 50% QA. Heck, anyone failing QA at 1% for Apple, particularly for the simplest part of iPhone, should get a marching order from Apple. But india, at 50% QA failure, get even a bigger investment from Apple.. Why? The answer is very simple, the US wants to boost up india as a proxy to fight China. So instead of investing in Thailand/Malaysia/Vietnam/Mexico and many other stable and definitely more capable countries than india, the US keeps persisting to invest in india. But india will always be india.. it won't improve. Because simply, the fundamentals are not there. So in the next 5-6 years, india will grow 5-6% from this "fixed" investment.. And then the US companies will be hit with profit decline (Tesla, Apple etc), it will have no choice but change it strategies to invest in other countries like Vietnam, Malaysia etc. And then india's growth will collapse.. rupee will collapse.. india will collapse..

In a way it’s good that countries that don’t like India bring Bhandari on their panel. He provides the info that the panel wants to hear! The truth however is somewhere in between what Bhandari says or a Palki Sharma says 😉

I think if you want someone that backs his statements and assertions with facts and figures and charts. It is not Jayant but Professor Ashoka Mody. Just a few of his charts will make anyone who has any high hopes for India shiver. For example, in the Indian national parliament 40% of its MP's are actively being charged with criminal charges. 26% of MP's are currently charged with serious crimes (defined as murder, kidnapping, and rape). India's female labor participation has been dropping while all other asian countries are increasing. Vietnam is at 92%, China at 89% and India only at 13%.

@@cabasadefogo9533, India is the world's largest democratic country. Democracy expounds in equal treatment, freedom and equal justice but yet India never stop the Caste System in India. The Caste system encourages and promotes inequality in cultural, customs and social practices. It beats the democracy in India hands down. That is the greatest contradiction. That's why corruptions, bribes and frauds breed easily bcos the Caste System is in the cultural DNA of India. Very difficult to cure. Old practices die hard. Perhaps a Cultural Revolution is needed (like China) to revamp the system but it has be very carefully managed to prevent serious mistakes like China made.

@@keanphenglim5179 wow…. India should really get their act together if they want to become the super power or great power they claim to be. There is all this stuff about india being a great power in western media, but we all know that isn’t true. The mass poverty there would have to be taken care of. Sure, there is in the US, but the USD is the world’s reserve currency, and has the strongest military (reportedly). Also the wealthiest country by gdp. Meaning they can afford to mess up and make mistakes, unlike India. It’s kind of like how the poor can’t afford to make mistakes, but the rich can.

I love how Jayant thinks he knows India but Modi the most popular leader in the history of India doesn't know about India, just check any indicator we are doing things in a large scale, also Jayant is a Hindu hater and India hater. He won't tell you China opened up in 1973-74 and India opened up in 1991, and we are almost on the same trajectory as China was in 2004-2008.
