Year 1403: China mighty navy came but did not invade the Malacca (Malay Peninsular), instead they established trade and diplomatic relationship. They also protected Malacca from Siam. China could have invaded Malacca if they wanted to but no they didn’t. Year 1511: Western colonial power destroyed the Malacca sultanate, the peninsular was under their control until 1957. The history tells us that we do not have to fear China. Joining BRICS will bring mutual benefit.

Since ancient times, the peoples of Malaysia ( ie Malaya, Sabah & Sarawak) have prosperous trading with excellent people-to-people relationship with China. Any busybody outsider countries attempt to push Malaysia to pit against China is utterly futile. In year 2023, Malaysia-China bilateral trade has reached 24% of the total value of Rm300 billions ringgit & is going up via Reminbi/Ringgit swap lines. Latest Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia & Vietnam have expressed their interest to join Brics. So who is next? 😊

Just because a country choose BRICS doesn't mean they'll side with China over US. That's like saying Egypt, Ethiopia, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates will choose China over the US just because they joined BRICS as a new member, while these countries still have close partnership with the US. It's best we should stay neutral than just choosing sides.
