I know a double handful of unmarried people in their late life. I know even more people, including those who are married, who have never had kids. I never married. One gal I was close to for a few years had a miscarriage, but she was menopausal and we thought we were safe.

As I view the CCP as a threat to global peace and security, I LIKE that Chinas population is in decline. In the long term, perhaps one way to diminish the power of autocracies is population decline in those countries? Thinking about Russia and China which are both in steep decline in population. In contrast, I don’t like the population decline in some stable democratic countries. In democratic countries, however, its easier to fix as there’s an endless supply of people from elsewhere wanting to migrate to democracies. Thinking about North America, Europe, Australia etc. Of course, political system isn’t the only deciding factor for migrants, but it sure seems like an influential one. People don’t want to resettle in autocracies.
