China in particular has pissed off Canada. It started in earnest with the arrest of the two Michaels. That is something Canada will not forget. Coupled with the theft of intellectual property from Canada (Nortel), political interference in Canada’s governments and then the Covid-19 outbreak… well that was the last straw. Canada stopped investing in Russia back in 2004, when Russia seized investments from Canadian firms. Canada never went back. Even at G8 meetings Russia was constantly complaining that Canadian’s were not investing in Russia like the other members of the G7. It’s because once burned Canadian’s don’t forget. The same is now true for China. Canada has had enough, and they will ignore China for a long long time (even if the communists are kicked out). The problem really boils down to the Chinese. They will only do things that benefit them. Whether it be selling substandard military equipment to other nations, or building roads and railroads that either break down or they can’t possibly make money. This leaves those it deals with with unsustainable debt, and the loss of their resources to China. There is only so long before everyone turns on China for this selfish behaviour. That day is here already in my opinion. As said in this video, China is going to enter a long period of stagnation and isolation.

I am an engineer working in research and I had many collabs with Turkish engineers. They were without exception, always some of the smartest, nicest and politest people I ever had the pleasure of working together. I have nothing but good to say about them. Just to clarify, the Manchus signed treaties with the Russian Romanov dynasty/empire exclusively in the written Manchu, Mongol, Russian, and Latin languages. The Chinese language translations and copies were not made until the late 1800's when the Qing dynasty was beginning to collapse. So, Manchuria has never been "Chinese" until it got colonised by Chinese settlers in the 1920's and the average sedentary rice farmer back then had no idea that this was happening.
