@@Steve-ev6vx theres a distinction to be made between this state oriented snitch culture with the intention of empowering the state vs actually testifying against personal transgressions and crimes against your freedoms. Like the soviets encouraging people to snitch on anti communist sympathies and rewarding people with no evidence because the goal isnt actually any kind of justice. But i agree, the whole im not gonna tell on the drug dealer who accidentally shot up some kids and pets in a drive by cuz i aint no snitch culture is equally bad.

This is a very important thread because we can very clearly see what our problem is. Its not snitching or not snitching as we might immediatley assume but our problem is we as humans seem to only function in the extremes. Why cant we all collectivley find the proper balance? Im genuinley asking; why is it we have been working on finding the solution for thousands of years but cannot? If we find THAT answer we can fix the problem and save ourselves from ourselves

@@philip_si funny how you missed the point entirely. The CCP and chinese police do that for a selfserving interest and they have some success with it, their actions are not useless alltho completely despicable. Someone "feeling useless" distracting himself with how bad the chinese have it however is completely useless, as his deflections are counterproductive. Thats the kind of behaviour which for example put the US so far behind the first world, as Americans look to china and russia for comparison and to feel better ... instead of looking to modern democracies to realize how broken, corrupt and unfair their own society is. "could be worst" is the mindset of the useless.

Well he was saying he was grateful to avoid going to room 101. But people assume state interference is not in the West? If a wife calls the police, the husband will be removed from the property. She can then use the state, without proof of anything sinister/abusive, to be financially rewarded. Honestly the China bashing is getting old. The West in the last decade is slowly becoming an even lamer dystopian realm than China. I wouldn't move to China, but I have very little interest in Western society thesedays either.

Which is exactly where Western MSM is trying to led the West with their divisive propaganda for the best interests of the corporate state majority controlled by the Western oligarchy. Like A LOT of the propaganda about CHINA. USA MIC funded think tank groups like the Institute for Strategic and International Studies just completely MADE UP the imprisoned and oppressed Chinese Uighur narrative which has been thoroughly DEBUNKED. FACT: About a quarter of ISIS was made up of Chinese Uighur and the CIA wanted that terrorism spread into Northern China. Which is why China cracked down of Islamic far right-wing extremism (Mainly supported by Saudi Arabia and the USA) in the Xinjiang province which led to the ending of terrorist attacks in the region. ALSO since the Chinese crack down on terrorism GDP in the Xinjiang province has now DOUBLED. This TY channel is garbage info. 1984 was actually about what happens when the global oligarchy (dominated by the West) fully take over. Like any other oppressive dictator.

That gets more difficult by the day, for Socialist Student Councils (ASTA) in Germany have in some universities (eg Bremen) taken 1984 out of the university library "to protect the emotional well-being of the students". It's always the same. That ideology never changes. It plays nice, sweet, innocent, pro human rights and pro free speech after it is down and beaten, and only does so to regain enough power over a long time to forbid those things towards others. 1984 was never fiction, it was always what Socialists already did and dreamed of doing given the technology.

Bear in mind that this has happened at least twice before in the US. During both world wars, kids were encouraged to snoop around looking for "scrap metal" to gether and turn in, even if it was on other people's property and they needed it. This also went for things like "food hoarding" where people had stocked up before rationing kicked in. At the same time, other people, such as older women, were recruited and sometimes trained, to stand in public places and shops listening for "disloyal or anti-government statements" such as complaining about rationing (of almost everything), etc., and ratting the people out. Ratting on friends and family was fair game, too. So this can happen here because it has happened here.

A similar thing happened in Japan during the 1930s and 1940s. My Japanese grandfather was sent to jail for owning books of Western philosophy and history. My grandmother's piano was locked by the police so she could not play Western music. The government drugged up the military with amphetamine, so they could become more violent. Ratting out people was common in all Japanese-occupied territories including Japan. Hating America was one of the main topics taught to children during this time.

This is insane. I'm a teacher, and my fifth graders have a habit of snitching on each other about completely unrelated incidents if they get in trouble (i.e. "yes, I did kick him, but so-and-so pulled Bethany's hair!!"). I assume in a desperate attempt to divert attention and/or lessen their own punishment. I keep telling them that a) yes, of course it is important to report someone who hurt you, damaged your stuff, etc., but b) we are not snitching on everyone for everything. The person who was hurt can tell me who hurt them, and I will deal with it. But everyone should look at their own behaviour and not everyone else's all the time. We are not ratting each other out for little things constantly, that is not something I encourage in my classroom. This video absolutely blows my mind, it is insane to teach this to young kids, and so damaging.
