hi from Lancashire, Love your channel, you guys are really churning out the quality content. the chongqing visit was my favourite video, never heard of that place before you went there. I love steam engines, coming from the Uk and living close to manchester home of the worlds first trainstation~( the manchester to liverpool line). I know china has hitec cities and technology hubs, but I watched some vid on youtube a few years ago about the last steam engines in china, these were huge working trains transporting coal. there was quite an significant infrastructure still in operation in 2018 the vid is named "Sandaoling - China last steam trains / January 2018" would love if you could find out more about china's last steam engines and make an video about. its so unusual in these times of microchips and super fast hi-speed trains. I think there are still a few remaining steam lines running in africa and India but sadly they will all be phased out soon. would love if china preserved these lines as an museum but Sandaoling is an remote, inhospitable place and chillingly cold. keep up the great work, all the best with your adventures. you will certainly have tales to tell your grandchildren one day

I'm Australian Chinese born in Hong Kong and grow up in Australia most my live and it's really sad how the Western media and Western governments, feeding ppl with false and negative informations. Stereotyping China and it's Government, hardly mention anything good about China and yes there is bad things, but same applies to every countries around world. Ppl really need to travel around the world and see things for themselves, and I'm grateful to have ppl like you guys showing a much true and brighter side of China, Keep up the good work... 👍👍👍
9:51, those were not propaganda booklets. in old days, most of chinese were illiterate or semi-illiterate. most part of contents for those booklets were drawing, plus a few words for story telling. those booklets were very popular back to 30s, 40s, all the way to 60s, generated many famous artists, painters. with increased the levels of education, those booklets were gradually disappeared in cities.

@ip desperado, Do you notice the guy waving at 8:07 as the drone was flying over his head? In the US if you fly your drone like that over somebody's head they could be pissed off at you and accuse you of "spying" on them! Could be a very dangerous thing to do since the Americans often walk around with handguns or even machine guns! People in the US have no problem with killing somebody over an argument, an unwanted look, or even for a pair of somebody's sneakers! If China is different it is that the people are a lot more friendlier and accepting of other people. The US is filled with hot-heads that are always looking to show off their manliness by shooting somebody with their guns!

Guizhou once was the poorest province is because it’s the only province where no flat terrain can be found in China , with the mega highway project to connect every rural area ,and the national poverty targeted alleviation policy implemented ,this mountainous province definitely is not what it was years ago! I deeply love the beautiful land where I was born and raised ,I hate people still perceive the picture “people drinks the Maotai in a shanty ”or ask things like “did you ride the donkey when you went to school”…it sounds like if they heard someone from guizhou stereotypically think we are the poorest in the whole country …how narrow minded!Many other provinces in general developed and changed tremendously, and nowhere more so than my homeland! Guys forward looking !

China clearly understands how to elevate poverty. Infrastructure allows more opportunities within the poorer areas and makes it easier for businesses to relocate there. Local goods and services are able to be sold more easily in a wider Chinese market and boosts local economy. Where as the west forces people to move to where the work is and creates large areas of significant deprivation. Very different strategies.
@zhugeliang39053 жыл бұрын
I agree with you. It's a clever scheme to develop the poor area.
@nickhan14043 жыл бұрын

@nickg18953 жыл бұрын
This must be a joke. China has some of the highest rates of increasing Urbanization and population drains from rural cities to larger cities. If you look at China's population statistics you would see the rural areas and many areas north actually are losing population and that's because so many are moving into cities. It just takes time but there is a huge and continuing growth of urbanization of China.
@vegamoonlight3 жыл бұрын
@@nickg1895 they have planned cities which the Western media would always report as ghost cities despite them having half-finished. But if you look at those 'ghost cities', they have already been occupied by millions now.
@nickg18953 жыл бұрын
@@vegamoonlight Many of those places are built because China literally cannot stop building infrastructure or many of their industries will collapse as a huge part of their GDP is centered around their giant infrastructure and real estate industries. I do agree that they had many ghost cities that some of them now have millions of people in an actually look very good but you can see so many places in China still are vacant when there’s over 100 million vacancies within these buldings. It’s OK to pre-plan and develop and to make it so your population has a place to grow into but it also depends on the rate that you’re doing it and if you do it and build so much infrastructure and the people don’t move in at the rate that you planned then you’re going to have massive cost to repair the infrastructure and you won’t have made a dime from it to repair the costs. Or even made back would it cost to build in the first place. A lot of China is actually like this that you don’t get to see where they run massive infrastructure projects that actually lose them money overtime or they run it at a cost deficit so other industries can grow, like their high-speed rail running at a cost deficit but it contributing to the growth of many different cities. part of it is actually very smart though. If you look into China’s local provinces debt to GDP ratios you would see where a lot of China’s debt is actually being hid where they don’t show it on a national scale.

Miao and Dong are the two minorities in Guizhou. Lee was wearing the traditional clothing from one of the groups. Hanfu literally means Han clothing. It was worn during the Han dynasty in 206 BCE - 220CE. Over 90% of the population in China consider themselves to be of Han ethnicity.
@mykrt85413 жыл бұрын
Hanfu was worn not only during the Han Dynasty, but throughout Chinese history until the end of Ming dynasty

There is a chain store named ‘ Si Lian丝恋‘ where you can eat most local food of Guiyang, like one-stop trying. Qianling Park is also highly recommended, it is a big inner-city park with temple and cage-free monkeys, it’s the mixture of natural environment and hectic life. btw just nearby the highway you introduced, it’s the backside of Qianling mountains and lake underneath the highway is also in Qianling park.

That's one of the negative things China allowed to proliferate in China. American junk food outlets should be limited in their availability. It is bad for the health of the young generations of the chinese people. You are seeing more and more obese young chinese kids in China. China need to re-think the necessity for the number of these american junk food, such as KFC, McDonalds, Pizza Huts, even StarBucks. It is poisoning the chinese population.
