In this video, I discuss NATO's bombing of the Chinese Embassy in Belgrade in 1999. This event is remembered very differently by China, and the West, as a recent article in The Economist revealed. President Xi Jinping is visiting Serbia in May 2024 to commemorate the event. But how do the best historians see this event in world history, and the history of the Atlantic Alliance, NATO?
Find out in this video the surprising difference between elite Western opinion and the prophetic words of a leading world historian.

The bombing lasted for 78 days. China has been a friend of Serbia for decades. It didn't vote for the UN sanctions against the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia. It helped Serbia with oil once the sanctions were lifted. Ever since, China has been supplying Serbian people with goods. Serbia was the first country that granted Chinese citizens no visa entry.

Excellent points. The images of the welcome to Xi in Serbia (which came through after I made my video) confirm this friendship between the countries.

The CCP drages out 30-200 years old resentments to keep itself in power at home. It litterally exports deep inside problems of totalitarian regime to Europe, Indonesia, to the whole East Pacific as at least to the whole world. The CCP would rather sink it as to step from its power. In this čas namely the revenge of its own people would be endless.

Soviet Union/Russia and China were ally of WW2. Both countries contributed in the defeat of Nazi Germany and Imperial Japan. Soon as WW2 ended. Soviet Union/Russia and China were branded as the new enemy. Why ? Because the West, in particular USA needed a new boogeyman or two. Japan and Germany became America's vassals. Now all the EU and G7 countries are US's vassal as well.

US/UK and NATO helpers did a perfect job in Yugoslavia in 1999. In Serbia today, the Italians took over the entire automotive manufacturing industry, Austrian and Italian banks dominate, US Steel took metals, Germans took the machine and tools sector, Dutch and Swiss bought majority of products brands, Austrians hold major mobile market share, Norwegians are about to take electric grid and the Germans the local telecom. Also for scraps the Arabs took the only major agro business, the Russians took oil and China took the copper and gold mines. Private ownership in Serbian hands reduced to restaurants, a few small farms and hair salons. Its not left-right anymore but global corporate empire and neo-colonialism.

US Steel left Serbia almost 15 years ago. Chinese overtook the metal industry and minerals extraction. It was a good move by the Serbian government. Norway never intended to take over anything. Serbian government paid for the Norwegian team of experts to improve the Serbian electric grid. Good move. Dutch and Swiss took over nothing in Serbia. Banks are controlled from London City and Vienna just like in the rest of Europe.

The Great State, which was supposed to be the center of power in this part of Europe, was broken. Germany's goal was to break up Yugoslavia into smaller states that it could easily dominate, thereby controlling the Balkans. It needed an economic zone to which it could export German products and whose market it could dominate.

One thing is clear: the OIC (Organization of Islamic Cooperation) has lost its ability to effectively represent the Muslim world. Moreover, we Muslims are tragically preying on the blood of our fellow Muslims for our own selfishness, which is a sign of impending doom. Witnessing the deaths of innocent children before my very eyes and the killings of mothers and sisters is unbearable. I am left helpless, unable to do anything but watch. Each time I see the plight of the Palestinian people, my heart breaks. 😔😔 Shame on every Muslim OIC nation for their inaction.

Why would the Americans bomb an embassy in what is essentially a 3rd world nation? Keep in mind the West was generally friendly toward the Chinese in 1999, so it would have been out of character even for America. We wanted them on our side, or at least neutral. Purposely bombing the Chinese embassy 'to send a message' is the height of stupidity. Even so, did America like bombing embassies? Did they do it all the time, or even some of the time? Hardly ever? I can't think of a single instance in that era. I believe the embassy was dumb-bombed by accident, just like the Americans said. The Chinese then hyped up their own Nationalist to a fever pitch in light of the bombing. How conveniently strategic to generate outrage. Xi is continuing the protest 25 years on to send a thinly veiled message to the West.

Sorry, but the USA has seen China as a potential adversary since the 1930's and most definitely as an adversary since 1949. The Nixon - Kissinger 1979 recognition of "One China" was more about stalling any post Sino-Soviet period Russia - China rapproachment than anything else. Documents now available clearly show that the bombing of the Chinese embassy was no accident. It was a warning to a resurgent China. President Putin has said that: "It all started in Serbia", when talking about the Russian SMO (Special Military Operation) in Ukraine - or more precisely the NATO proxy war against Russia in Ukraine.
