Wow you have it so wrong, programmers aren't about creating connections to propel them into their older years. It's the economy they work with-in that defines them. China doesn't value experience. Another way to put it is that, in the west, your experience is your age and it defines your value. More so China can't innovate in the software stack section. These platforms start with experienced older programmers and develop products that the world uses. There is a clear disconnect, and I am poor at explaining it. But it is there.

Tech industry is no longer what it used to be. Blue collar jobs here in the US are now very appealing because they remain in demand, has better job security, has a very respectable pay nearimg six figs while others do reach six figs. If I get fired in my tech job, I will learn a trade and be a blue collar worker. Blue collar workers will never go hungry as long as they are not lazy. But the tech sector is just extremely saturated right now and advent of AI is adding salt to injury.

12:59 summarizes everything. China needs to chill. There is a saying in the West, "It is just a fart in the wind". China needs to listen to its people.

You can't really use AI alone to code. Giving it the correct instructions requires you to actually understand what needs to be coded. Anyone who thinks otherwise will find that for the most part it can probably fix a bug but it can't actually Intuit how to design a feature.

Diamond level programmer.. LOL its just a fake name the company give you to make you feel important. I have been coding for almost 20 years and i don't relish having any honorific given to me. Programming is a never ending journey, while some hate it. I love it!

Right skills wrong market. Still some runway left. Hardware with that AI vaporware chip isn't moving any money from wallets. But software is, still a software story. It's time for Windows to permanently go and an entire ecosystem of software to replace it.😅

No matter how many robots will replace jobs, someone still have to keep them up to date and repair them when they break down and this is where the people's with the skills to do this can make money! I already send my adult daughter to school for this and is already earning money from her training! Remember! When one door closes, another door opens for you! 😮

I know more people who have figured this out on the job than I do people who went to college. They also need the technical machines to repair and I don't see a lot of that in the future there right now.

Repairing isn't a new skills. I majored in electronic engineering and did lots of repairs in my early years but a)repair jobs are boring b)don't pay well and c) with modular design, they have been reduced to replacing a module rather than troubleshooting and soldering a pcb , thus easy to do.

This is not unique to China. They have however oversaturated the market and the CCP should have reduced it's reliance on foreign investment or corporations.

Will soon affect all programmers worldwide. Because programmers can already be 90% replaced by AI. In another 12 months, programmers will no longer be needed anywhere in the world. A basic income and taxation of work performed by AI must come. Because it won't just affect programmers.
