All this is true, I live in the US, and I am a Asian American. The US is not a safe country to live in. When I leave my home, you can see the misery. People sleeping in tents, bus stops, homeless camps, and people at stop signs asking for money. There is a lot of crime as well, so you have to carry some kind of self protection when you leave your home. The US is less safe compared to 40 years ago.

I think most Americans do know and they despair of government doing anything to solve obvious problems. Most Americans feel these facts - in medical bankruptcies, skyrocketing food costs, loss of jobs, inability to afford college, lack of services, fear, insecurity, obvious extreme poverty (homelessness), their own children's lack of faith in their futures, drug addiction, etc. The one thing most Americans might not know about is the prisons and prison labor. Everything else is obvious, blatant.

For me its homelessness. What shocks me are the tent cakes living under freeway overpasses. These cites expand by the month. These are serious America’s primary dispossessed. They are in the street because they defaulted one month on their mortgages and so were evicted by their family bank. The dispossessed would be a great TV series for the future. There us a guy from Missouri (I think) who does YT docs on their dead and dying hearts of American cities. No matter whee you look the cities and towns of America are become wastelands. Homes deserted, or burned down or places with interiors where the light fittings and water fixtures have been stripped from the hmes they walked away frnm. Look up one of the tallest building in NYC, 30 Hudson Yard. I recently went to the restaurant located at 101st floor of that building, Peak with Priceless. But I thought, the building did not look like 101 story tall... So I looked up, it's only got 73 floors. Man, the 1 WTC, also claims to have 104 stories, only got 94 floors. While the reports on the US violation of human rights is commendable, they focus only on their domestic issues but what they did internally certainly pales in comparison to their horrific crimes n atrocities committed on other countries whether it's a direct military invasion like Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria, Haiti etc, or through proxy n hybrid wars in Iran, Syria, Libya, Yemen and several countries in Africa n South America which has resulted in horrendous destruction, sorrow n death of millions of innocent civilians, not to mention the terrible sufferings n deprivation caused to those who manage to survive the onslaught. The latest evidence of these crimes which are happening before our very eyes is this US proxy war in Ukraine where over 500,000 Ukrainian military personnel has perished in the battlefields with an equal number permanently disabled n missing in action. Last but not least is the US undying support for their Israeli proxy's continued genocide against the Palestinian civilian population in Gaza with over 40,000 killed, half of them children together with the destruction of thousands of homes n public institutions like schools n hospitals. All these crimes n atrocities are cleverly disguise by their powerful propaganda machine as defending freedom n democracy.

It's even worse than you say. Not only do 50k lose their jobs after getting pregnant, but most of them also never recover in terms of careers. Pregnancy is a sure fire career killer for the majority of US women. This is well known for a long time, at least among the literate. Which in the US only 1/3 of the country can read above a primary school level (5th grade) so there's that.

It's the same as in the Netherlands. Peoples say that Netherlands is a rich country. The peoples who live there knows that it's only the government that is rich. The peoples are so poor.
