Welcome to the USA. I would not mind waiting longer if they need more time to adjust. I want to see them, but only when they are actually ready.

I was talking to the zoo HR recruiter last month, she said all the bamboos will be delivered from the 2nd San Diego zoo safari Park in Escondido near by. The zoo is hiring more food court workers just to anticipate more visitors. September is a little cooler for visitors 😊

By the way: It's fortunate that Bulgarian zoos aren't home to giant pandas. Their specialized care requirements would be incredibly difficult to meet given the current facilities and resources in the country.

@@JRM62524 just check out Yaya when she was the Memphis Zoo 1 year ago and now (at the Zoo in Beijing). You could clearly see that Yaya has gained so much weight, her fur improved so much and she looks way happier right now since her return to China.

@@Col-gl6jf I followed the story. I am happy that the medical treatment she is receiving in China has helped her a lot. It is my understanding that the medical treatment she received in the USA was in consultation with the Chinese panda experts. My thoughts - if you are not a veterinarian, biologist, or animal expert, and don't have access to her clinical records, let the experts who have seen her clinical records do the talking. The Chinese experts who checked her out over the years while she was in the USA have clearly said that she was well cared for in the USA. End of story.

You are thinking of the male panda cub Bao Li, who will be one of the two coming to Washington's National Zoo later this year. He is the son of Bao Bao, a female panda born at Washington DC's National Zoo, and since returned to China where Bao Li was born. The male cub coming to San Diego is Yun Chuan, who has a local connection. His mother, Zhen Zhen, was born at the San Diego Zoo. She is also in China now, where her son was born.
