The Philippines cognizant that alone it cannot deter China's expansion in the Philippines Exclusive Economic Zone, sought alliance with US, Japan and other like-minded countries. Facing threat of a big navy with hypersonic missiles and three artificial islands military bases nearby, the Philippines need US deployment of not one but more Typhon missile systems to help deter/counter this threat. The $500 million US military aid will help the Philippines buy ships, fighter jets, anti-ship missiles, anti-ship drones, and missiles defense systems, to strengthen its defense capability.
