Dennis, I have been a subscriber for some time now and really enjoy your videos. I can not thank you enough for turning on to Banggood, A real woodworkers toy store. I have been woodworking for over forty years and the products that you have shown from Bangggod not only improves my woodworking , but my enjoyment of my shop. I can not get colored MDF anywhere near me, so I am very jealous of how colorful your shop projects are. Keep up the great videos and I'll hope to be watching for many years to come.

Dennis -- Thank you for making these videos; by which I mean all your videos, not just your China Tools series. The time you take shows in the quality of the video. Question: Have you considered comparing aluminium T-tracks to T-slots cut into the wood itself? I'm not sure how well T-slots would work with MDF, but they seem to work very well with Baltic birch plywood or solid wood. The advantages of T-slots are they are stronger (unless the T-track is held in with long screws into material that holds screws well). They seem to be quicker and easier to install. (With a T-slot, once you've used your router to cut the slot, you're done. With a T-track, you need to cut a slot into the wood for the track and then cut the track to fit, and glue/screw it into place.) And, finally, T-slots are less expensive. The disadvantage of T-slots is that they would seem to wear out over time. I ask because I think you could make an interesting and informative video addressing when and why you'd use one solution over the other.
@HookedonWood
@HookedonWood 3 жыл бұрын
Hi David, No I did not compare them. On this moment I can not compare them. I hoped my rail guide clamps would fit the T-tracks but this was not the case. Otherwise I would compare them. These smalle clamps do not fit the Micro Jig grooves. So, I did not have the opportunity yet.

I'm happy you're reviewing these Chinese made products. The name/origin of manufacturing has a negative connotation to it, but clearly you're displaying that most of their products have a decent amount of quality to them. Maybe a few things have been overlooked, like the size of the T track and the clamp being able to work together, but thanks to you we can avoid those mishaps. I'm definitely adding making a list for my workshop and will use your links :)

Hey there. Since you have reviewed and used so much tools in your workshop AND you're a Domino owner. Do you have any idea how one could build a portable crossstop jig for the Domino. The systems that are on the market right now are either super expensive or not well thought-through. There has to be a good DIY way... Curious if you have any idea. What do you think about the original Festool crosscut stops? I hear a lot of negative reviews.

Thank you for another wonderful video, Dennis. The lengths you will go to thoroughly test all these China Tools is astounding. I should also add that the pieces you created for "testing purposes" are extremely impressive. Far superior in artistry and function to anything one would find in my shop. If I could impose, I do have a few questions. Could you expound on how it is that the grey slider nuts work with the red and blue miter track, but not with the grey? Also, do I understand correctly that the blue and red slider nuts provided with the accessories work with all three colors of miter track? Finally, when working with the small tracks do the clamps and stops work better with M6 or M8 T-bolts, or does it matter at all? Thanks again. Looking forward to Episode 27.
@HookedonWood
@HookedonWood 3 жыл бұрын
Hi, thanks for your comments. I appreciate it! About the questions. The dark grey T-track has other dimensions (Slightly) The dimensions are correct according there drawing but it is just slightly different than the others. Because of that, the silver slider comes just a bit above the T-track, so it will not clamp. The blue slider is a bit thinner than the silver slider so, that is why it works here. All the miter stoppers works perfectly with all the colors T-tracks, except the dark gray one. It is a bit confusing perhaps, and Banggood actually did not send me this dark one. I bought it myself. But I wanted to implement it in this video so people know. I think the M8 screws work better with the small T-tracks. The M6 are smaller and therefore they can turn a bit when you slide them and then they hassle. The M8 slides smoother.

@HookedonWood
@HookedonWood 3 жыл бұрын
I will keep it in mind. The idea to change from Makita to Festool was always there. But the first accupack is always so expansive. When you have it, adding extra products asked smaller steps financially. But it is just that it is such a pleasure to work with Festool. There is almost nothing you can not do with a Makita, but it works so smooth with Festool. So, definitely not necessary, but just for pleasure.

What is that that black material that you use and we're can I get in the USA? Heard you say black mdf at one point but I looks like poly at other points. Love the content and liked and sub'd

Hi there, nice video and just in time because I need to make up a router table and a bit confused looking at the items on banggood- I purchased just a couple of things and not thought slightly ahead with sizes of things such as T rack(the small one which is a bit of a waste of time and money - I found anyway ) When it comes to the T Tracks, the blue one seems the safe bet since it fits the sliders etc? I think you said at 4.34 min the grey t track is not a good fit for the sliders? The table layout with the cross sections is what am thinking plus a fence with the track although not sure 100% of its design as yet. Overall what you have shown is pretty much I was thinking. I will use your links (when viable) if it helps you

Thanks. Only the dark grey has this problem. The light grey not or the aluminum color. (Not in this video)

@@HookedonWood ps you know what would be nice? if you break it down in to workable groups , like packs ( t tracks, sliders for the t track then fence items) . People would probably pay you a commission for your trouble since it is a little hit and miss with these items.

Another great video Dennis. One question though, What type of finish did you put on the Black MDF? Thanks

I always put Danish oil on it. Three or 4 layers.

I have to say I'm so envious of the MDF that seems to be so readily found in Europe. I've purchased 3 different sheets of supposedly "high quality" MDF, two of them colored, here in the US, and they do NOT machine anywhere near as nicely as what you seem to be able to source. Or maybe it's just all skill. ;)

Do you get moisture resistant mdf over in the USA? That machines much better than standard mdf.

Sorry, nevermind, it looks like you're saying they only fit in the miter slots, I thought you put them in the small grey T-track at first.
