US going isolationist or..... hyper inflationist ? :P ( a isolationist would have a plan for domestic production with targets and programs to achieve them) is there still demand for the pound as global currency, really? 100yrs ago they said thered always be demand for the pound/reserve currency also, then times/currencys changed

China is being smart, they don't need to recycle their dollar surplus into US t-bonds. They can lend it out to other countries, that is a brilliant idea. They can also use it for international trade in their own banking system, which would made it impossible for the US to track.

UK economy is in stagnation and that is the main reason the UK chancellor is visiting China. This comes at a time when two Chinese were accused of spying and one of them was banned from entering UK. The shadow foreign secretary, Priti Patel, has called for China to be designated a national security threat. How can China work and do business with a country like that?

Those fools don't realise just how bad they're cutting themselves. Reminds me of that Stephen King story, about a doctor shipwrecked on a desert island. He's hungry, so he surgically detaches his own toe. Next wave of hunger, another toe. As the story goes on, the doc gnaws on his own amputated calf, and so on... until he consumes himself, just to stay alive. Joining you in wishing for peace, kindness and humanity - not just for the season, but for years to come.

The integrity, morality, and character of Western rulers is completely lacking. At the height of their power, they brought death and destruction everywhere. Now the tables are turned, and the world can experience more peace. No need to seek paybacks. But always need to keep an eye on those with no integrity, morality, or character. Stay safe to all.

Indeed Sir, you are correct!! Can any brave American explain how a forced policy of reshoring US firms operating abroad back to the USA could take place at a time that the bond yield will be close to 5%or more !! Reshoring requires billions of dollars to be borrowed at interest rates that are financially prohibitive for most of these corporate units !! This would effectively defeat the Trump Tariff Wall major objective which is RESHORING as well as US dollar hegemony . 😮
@nanbutinanquibotiqui
@nanbutinanquibotiqui 7 күн бұрын
The US wants reshoring but the country is ill prepared for this because it lacks the necessary industrial infrastructure and people skills. The U.S. only came in for mop up, losing less than 200k soldiers……do people in the U.S. never think about that? Then the U.S. brazenly dropped the only nukes ever used on this planet…..on civilians. 🧡 USA or America calls it "Liberation" instead of "Invasion". That was what US call it in Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, Syria, Yemen, Somalia and the list goes on... Why the double standard? Confused... Please enlighten. Genuine question... Instances of the United States "liberated" or overthrowing, or attempting to overthrow, a foreign government since the Second World War. (* indicates successful ouster of a government) China 1949 to early 1960s Albania 1949-53 East Germany 1950s Iran 1953 * Guatemala 1954 * Costa Rica mid-1950s Syria 1956-7 Egypt 1957 Indonesia 1957-8 British Guiana 1953-64 * Iraq 1963 * North Vietnam 1945-73 Cambodia 1955-70 * Laos 1958 *, 1959 *, 1960 * Ecuador 1960-63 * Congo 1960 * France 1965 Brazil 1962-64 * Dominican Republic 1963 * Cuba 1959 to present Bolivia 1964 * Indonesia 1965 * Ghana 1966 * Chile 1964-73 * Greece 1967 * Costa Rica 1970-71 Bolivia 1971 * Australia 1973-75 * Angola 1975, 1980s Zaire 1975 Portugal 1974-76 * Jamaica 1976-80 * Seychelles 1979-81 Chad 1981-82 * Grenada 1983 * South Yemen 1982-84 Suriname 1982-84 Fiji 1987 * Libya 1980s Nicaragua 1981-90 * Panama 1989 * Bulgaria 1990 * Albania 1991 * Iraq 1991 Afghanistan 1980s * Somalia 1993 Yugoslavia 1999-2000 * Ecuador 2000 * Afghanistan 2001 * Venezuela 2002 * Iraq 2003 * Haiti 2004 * Somalia 2007 to present Honduras 2009 * Libya 2011 * Syria 2012 Ukraine 2014 * 2014 - 2022 - 9 countries yet to verify. No it's not Brexit it's the blind acceptance od hegemony that the EU willingly continues to accept. The threat to the world hardly seems to be China and Russia. But you have to be a savant to know this somehow.

Many thanks Sean, seasons greetings to you. China, Russia and a growing number of fellow BRICS countries represent a newly emerging multipolar world order; consequently future U.S. administrations will need to accept that any U.S. aspiration of global economic and military pre-eminence is no longer achievable. Moreover, the only way that America can now mitigate it's diminishing international influence, is by accepting and participating in the emerging multipolar world order; preferably as a leading nation state among equals.

30%~50% cheaper??? From what we know, it is much much cheaper than that. American firms can still get them from the black market and they are still much cheaper. It is a no win situation for US.

Doubt it. Unless they make up with Gazprom and Lukoil, cuddling up to China will not help them.
