I miss Lijiang and Dali so much. Yunnan is one of the most beautiful provinces in China. So many beautiful scenes with so many different cultures. I want to visit XIshuangbanna and Shangri-La next year.

bian jeremy Thanks, Yunnan province, Guangxi provinces, Qinghai province, Sichuan province were all belong to Lao, ( Gelao, Ai Lao, Rau, Liao ) a Tai-kadai speakers ppl aka Lao speakers ppl for thousands of years prior to Tibetan empire, Dali kingdom, Mongolian empire and Chinese dynasty took its away from us started in around 6th, and 12th century. I visited most of the places portrayed in 2010, after attending the Shanghai World Expo. I Loved Lijiang, Yangzhou...and Dali.

Well done! I just visited in June and enjoyed Yangshuo and the Li River cruise. Because it was so hot there, we booked with one of the bigger cruise boats so we could have the option of air conditioning. We were the only ones on the boat besides the crew!

I traveled to Yunnan last summer and weather there was surprisingly great. Unlike modern cities in the southern or northern China like Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou, Yunnan is way less modernized and its primary industry is tourism(very few high-polluted industries).Therefore the province itself has great air quality and offers great infrastructures for tourists. Like most popular traveling destination, it can get over-crowded in the holiday season. Because Yunnan is quite far away from the ocean, it causes relatively low humidity. I carried a lip stick with me constantly cuz I fucking needed it. Also since the state has relatively higher altitude and partially surrounded by mountain, temperature in late-afternoon could get very cold, so please carry a jacket with you ALL time. Like what you watch in video, Winter can be freezing for people like me. Minorities living in the area are very pure and hospitable, since most of them have a religious belief in Buddism. Not to mention how breathtaking the scenery is in Yunnan, I guess this is the only place on earth where tourists can see very original culture of minorities. In general, I'm in love with the province and hopefully next time I could go again in non-holiday season.
