You might be careful about what you're seeing. When I toured the Chinle Valley Singers to China, we went to the Sports University of Tientjin, where a major is offered in Ethnic Dance. NONE of the students were ethnic; they were all Han. I asked them why they were majoring in Ethnic Dance when none of them were members of minority groups To a person, they all said -- so they could join dance troupes and make money.
