Make your life easier by whipping up some Chinese air fryer recipes, today we are making Chinese bbq spare ribs in our air fryer for the first time. It was not perfect but it tasted absolutely delicious. We will do better in our next video. Enjoy!!!
WRITTEN RECIPE:
➜ INGREDIENTS:
FOR MARINATING
- 500-gram spare ribs
- 1 tsp salt
- sprinkle white pepper
- 1 tsp chicken powder
- 1 tsp Chinese five-spice
- 1 tbsp Chinese rice wine
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 1 tsp oyster sauce
- 1 tsp mushroom dark soy sauce
- 1 tbsp light soy sauce
- 1 tsp fermented red bean curd
- 3 tsp Char siu sauce
- 3 tsp Hoisin sauce
FOR Glazing
- 1 tsp Lee Kum Kee char siu sauce
- a drizzle of soy sauce
- a drizzle of honey
- 1 tsp oyster sauce
- 1 tsp sweet chili sauce
➜ INSTRUCTIONS
1) Clean and drain the excess water off the spare ribs
2) First add in all the dry ingredients and massage the pork ribs
3) Next add in all the sauces and let marinate for 2 hours or overnight
4) Place the marinated pork ribs in your air fryer basket
5) air fry at 200°degree for 10 minutes. After 10 minutes, flip the pork ribs over and repeat this step. (Note that you may need to adjust the time based on the size and thickness of your pork ribs. You may remove your basket after 10 minutes on each side to test the doneness of the pork ribs and avoid overcooking.)
6) Baste the top of the pork ribs with the glazing sauce then air fry at 200°degree for 2 minutes. Flip the pork ribs over and repeat this step.
7) Remove char siu pork ribs from the basket immediately and allow to rest for a few minutes, then it's ready to serve with white rice. Enjoy!
