There is no shortage of science lovers and enthusiasts in Pakistan. Very large percentage of people are not radical or radicalized. It is your perception and influence of Indian propaganda that is (unfortunately) very successful. But by the same token we in Pakistan believe India has turned into a RSS stranglehold and life has become tough (and getting tougher) for minorities especially Muslims. But you people (ardent RSS followers and internet warriors) sweep it under the rug. And you want world to believe business as usual in India which definitely not true. Pakistan on the other hand has done a poor job of not exposing RSS/BJP onslaught on Indian Muslims. This also shows your utter callousness, lack of moral courage that you don’t standup to gross injustices and atrocities perpetuated daily on Muslims who are your fellow citizens living there for centuries in your so-called (sham) democracy. And no democracy in the world treats its fellow citizens the way you Indians treat your citizens because they are or happened to be Muslims.

57:00 I do not know whether trials are conducted in Pakistan. But In India, any new Ayurvedic medicine has to undergo the same clinical trial as other medicines. Medicines that are proposed by renowned Ayurvedic texts have some relaxation in trials but are tested. So any approved Ayurved medicine of India is well-tested. We found side effects of Johanson and Johanson powder, we found that some European covid vaccine was not properly tested.. but the power of Ayurvedic medicines comes from hundreds of years of ancient testing and revalidation in modern time. I had faced severe eye problems, which no AIIMs doctor could solve but Ayurveda did. Ayurveda is not fit for emergencies, which everyone knows and accepts but most health problems are long-term in real life. For life style problems Ayurveda is best system of earth. The problem in Pakistan is not Ayurveda but the lack of proper practitioners.

@@mesatyamshukla Ayurveda is not scientific. In order for it to be scientific, the process of how the drug cures you needs to be explained. Well the question is not whether earth is rotating around sun or sun is rotating around earth. That we know for sure that earth is.moving around sun. But sun is not stationary either. Sun too is rotating, first on its own axis and then it is also rotating around milky way center. That way whole solar system is rotating as a unit, on a rotational arch within our galaxy

One suggestion to Pervez Sir, is to have the join option to this channel, so people who would like to support this channel monetarily can do that. You may not require monetary contributions but if people want to contribute in their own little way by membership subscription, then they will have the option to do. I have gained some useful knowledge by watching your videos, so I would like to contribute in my own little way. Thank you.

It is indeed a nice effort by Prof. Hoodbhoy to instill the spirit of scientific curiosity in the minds of his country people through this series. One wishes that the Professor would have refrained from referring to the ancient mathematicians in this lecture as "Indians" in a slightly pejorative third person context. In the passage of time, the creation of Pakistan and India as independent countries is a very recent phenomenon. But, the Indian subcontinent has existed from times immemorial. In one's opinion, it would not discredit Pakistani scholars like Prof. Hoodbhoy to acknowledge this common ancient heritage. After all, we too refer to Takshashila as a great centre of learning in ancient India even though geographically it now lies in Pakistan.

In smaller towns their (smaller) auditoriums would overflow. There'd be touts outside scalping tickets, local politicians would get involved alleging discrimination in ticket allotment, there'd be danga phasaad by people who hadn't managed to get tickets etc etc .

Mr. Hoodbhoy, you are a bright intellectual and I respect your views and the guts to critically analyze religion. I have been following your videos for few years now and have deep respect and admiration for you. There may be great intellectuals than you, but very seldom people come forward to criticize the unreasonable content present in the religious books because they are afraid of the backlash and in the worst case scenario their life itself. This trait of yours to fearlessly advance science and math is commendable and it requires passion and integrity to do genuine good to the people, for this trait itself I will salute you. Doing this type of talks in Pakistan is a sort of miracle because of the threats; Though Aryabhatta may have believed (it's debatable) in that sun and the star revolved around the earth but there is no doubt that he explained that earth was NOT stationary but it was rotating and revolving, this was an advanced concept at that time. Also, his book on mathematics and astronomy was translated by the Islamic scholars to Arabic during the 9th century which had great impact on science and mathematics in the Islamic world. So, this contribution of his should be kept in mind when talking about Islamic golden age; I have observed that you seem to downplay the contributions of India to science and technology in few of your talks, maybe because you are not aware of them. No doubt, wonderful progress was made by the Muslims during their golden age but they advanced the critical concepts which were already available through the Indian/Greek/Chinese or some other ancient civilization. It is difficult to find many groundbreaking original contributions of the Muslims in science and math that are devoid of others influences or insights. The shape of the earth was considered to be a sphere in India for way long, hence it was call bhugol (gol - meaning round/spherical), in many cultures earth was considered to be a flat body but Indians always considered it to be a sphere; Indians were very advanced in science and math, else it would not have been possible to build architectural marvels like the ancient temples nor the way the houses were built in the Indus Valley Civilization (it also had one of the most sophisticated drainage systems of the ancient world); Regarding contributions to medical science, please read about Sushrutha and his work in medicine before passing judgments, please check out the medical treatise written by him in the "Sushrutha Samhitha"; He is highly regarded in western nations (your favourite nations for science and technology) and his bust was erected by the Royal Australian College of Surgeons (RACS) in Melbourne, Australia, acknowledging the contribution of this great ancient expert in medicine. Regarding Ayurveda, many of it's medicines and treatments are with regards to extracting direct or indirect by-products of the plants (stems, leaves, seeds etc.,), so as you said we have to be careful in using them without examining scientific merit of it; Please update yourself on this' Coming to Islam and it's invaders, there is no need to go in detail, we already know how they destroyed some of the great ancient civilizations like Persia, Egypt and it is a miracle that India survived these barbaric invaders. Because of the strong concept of the law of karma that Indians survived the onslaught of the Islamic invaders, they saw that Quran is devoid of this basic concept of humanity they believed in and hence fought against Islamic invaders relentlessly even staking their lives; 1. No country in history survived prolonged onslaught from Islam as India did and still survived to tell its tale; 2. No country in the world excused the barbaric invaders and allowed for their integration into it's society like India. There may be many ills in the Indian society but the above two reasons should be enough to appreciate the high civilization of India and it's stress on the law of karma (which basically translates to do good deeds);

@@BabarUhsmani Islam is a political ideology and cult devoid of humanism. Created by Mohammed to conquer lands and convert people. Islam doesn't even have the basic philosophical concept of the law of karma and that shows how primitive Islam is. Islam shows utter disregard for non-muslims and prescribes death punishments for kaafirs. Such a barbaric ideology doesn't have a place in current world. Better for it to be reformed or banned for the sanity of the world. Yes, other religions just like Islam are man made but they became saner as time went by but Islam remained insane and violent since the time of Mohammad.
