Background of the story: The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) recently shut down this movement, likely due to concerns over potential political expression-similar to the 1989 Tiananmen protests. Movements in China are heavily monitored, and it's challenging for any form of activism to gain traction online. Currently, short videos can still capture and share snippets of these activities, but it's probable that restrictions on this medium will also tighten as authorities increase censorship.

What a sad state of affairs for modern China. When I visited it in the last century this was the norm. Beijing would be swamped with bikes but there would only be a few vehicles. Maybe the authorities should either ban, restrict or reroute motorised traffic at those times. To make it proper the ban should be applied to E-bikes as well!😀
The logic is that if the students are free to go, it is a sad state of affairs and there are too many people. If the bike number was reduced by the government, it is oppression of students' rights.
