Thank you for the video Nathan. Those diesel heaters are such a great inexpensive way to heat a campervan or motorhome. Definitely wise to utilise the van's fuel tank rather than using the tank supplied with the kit. Top job and have a great weekend.

Great video Nath, I fitted a brand new second hand Eberspacher removed from a Bt van for £200 , I fitted mine directly underneath the driver seat the way they fit them from factory, the air intake gets recirculated from a vent in the driver side step and blown out warm through the B pillar. I’ve fitted loads of the Chinese ones over the years but they’ve only ever been the 2kw, I’ve hear people say that the 4kw ones are too big to run flat out for transporters and end up sooting up when they are not ran full wack, don’t know how true it is but you can always run it flat out with the windows open or the AC on to cool you down 😂 On the metal heat shield on the van you’ll see a groove to poke the exhaust out into the middle of the van( if you look back at the video 13:58, your hand is blocking the view of the groove). That way all the plastic trims can still be fitted to protect the heater. I’ve been through loads of deep puddles and never had any issues

Those chinese made heaters are the dogs danglies, I definitely recommend them. Two things I have found with them is after running on low for long periods they need running on high for a good half hour or so to burn the crap deposits from the burn chamber. Second thing is that if the power is left on the display back lights eventually stop working. I fitted a switch to isolate the power when not in use. Only thing to be careful of is that the power is not switched off whilst heater is running or running the cool down cycle.

When mounted under the vehicle the air intake goes to an inlet you have to cut into the drivers step like the factory installation this then uses recirculated air instead of cold air, the heater outlet cones through the floor under the drivers seat and exits at the back of the seat base. I think you’re right to fit it inside as the electrics in the Chinese heaters are not weatherproof.

I installed one of these underneath my T5 last weekend, seems to be running great - Just wondered why you didn't install underneath the van and went for the internal under the seat option? Love the vids mate, keep 'em comin (oh ye!)

Thanks. I was wondering if the 5kw vs 2kw heater would actually fit underneath my T5

Hi mate what is the best way to connect the fuel to the heater I've seen people say to connect to the fuel return pipe but I would of thought that's only when the van is running so don't think that would be good when parked up
@Raymond-Gibb2 күн бұрын
Straight from the main tank or an isolated diesel tank.

Does the fitting of one of these Chinese heaters void the vans insurance?
@MoreDteTvКүн бұрын
Hey Greg I’m unsure on that one bud so if you wanted to make sure a phone call to and insurer would clear it up 👍

This is bad puts same video on both channels definitely milking it now and max speeding rods must be paying him some money it’s all he takes about just shows he gets it all for free as I have them on my car and there shit can’t wait to change them 🤬

Hey bud sorry you see it that way, I don’t get payed for showing the parts but that would be nice. Reason I showed the video on here is because the last few videos is about diesel heaters and this was my take on installing one. This channel also has different viewers only about heaters and not about the van. I do get sent the stuff to try but I’ve been making videos for 4 years without being payed so if you still call them free 🤷. Oh and one last thing I made a completely different video from the main channel I havnt just posted 2 of the exact same video. Again sorry you feel this way 👍

@@jonaahanwestwood7891 ah man I hate bad vibes and I’m so glad you read my reply and replied again. Thank you for your comments I appreciate all of them. I did feel abit funny about posting a similar video on both channels but I didn’t use any footage from the main channel. I have slightly moved away from lots and lots of info as some people said blimey you talk to much 😂 I guess I can’t please everyone. I do one short type of video then the next will be more in detail hoping to keep everyone engaged. Again thank you for replying 🙏 Nathan

They are most definitely NOT “all the same “! Those Chinese ones are very poor quality versus the main brands. They won’t last, regularly throw error codes. Have very poor quality exhaust and silencing. They come with very poor fuel supply hose and this is also responsible for error codes. Many van lifers with diy converted vans find these out quickly. You definitely get what you pay for and would you want to be sleeping on top of one of these in your camper or motorhome? Definitely not!

There are different power output types to think about depending on the volume your heating and what the exterior temperature could go down to. You get 3kw, 5kw 8kw etc etc plus they use various elec power to start up and run, therefore you need to think about where that power will draw from and how that will be regenerating

I believe Nathan remarked in a previous video that the Max Peeding Rods diesel heater came with the good stuff such as the better fuel line and quieter fuel pump. I would have no hesitation in using the Max Peeding Rod or other Chinese heater with the upgraded fuel line and pump in a motorhome as opposed to a Webasto or Erbacher one, but hey everyone is different and that's what makes the world an interesting place. Have a great weekend.

Those two brands are the very best and safest. Fitted to Mercedes vehicles, ambulances and other service vehicles around the world for a reason. My one in my 2017 Merc Sprinter minibus hasn’t missed a beat.
