Chinese forces have surrounded Taiwan with dozens of warships and a large number of aircraft as China threatens any nation that sides with Taiwan that they "will burn in hell." Chinese forces continue to surround the island at this very moment, and Taiwan has affirmed they will fight if provoked. Meanwhile Russia has purged another top official in the Russian government, and is still losing heavily on all front lines.

The one thing i can get out of the firey destruction threat is nuclear Armageddon. Which at this point is the same nuclear black mail strategy that the Russian government is using in Ukraine. Maybe the ccp noticed it worked somewhat okay with ukraine in terms making foreign involvement more complicated. I know nuclear Armageddon seems pretty far fetched, but what i find sort of funny is an argument that nuclear deterrence was supposed to prevent war. But here we are having wars, and nukes are being used as means to strategically black mail.

Nukes are only a defensive deterrence, not an offensive one (against a power/alliance that also has nukes). "Oh, you're losing in Ukraine and gonna use nukes to win? Don't, we will nuke you if you do! What now? You only lost Ukraine so far, now you wanna lose Russia and everything you ever owned? I think most of his military knowledge came from outside school. He's got the vehicles and equipment down, and they don't teach about them in college. Books are still the best way to get detailed knowledge, and he has certainly read a few of those.

We already have 5 (iirc) carrier groups in the area, with the last one heading that way not too long ago. On top of that, Japan has 2 carriers loaded with f-35s and is probably itching for some payback. Couple that with other assets in the region, along with Taiwan’s, and it’s definitely more than enough to repel any invasion. It would be extremely costly for China. I really doubt they’ll do it. The costs go far beyond just militarily. China would become NoKo within a couple years. China produces 1/4 of the world’s grain, but has 1/5 of the world’s mouths to feed. They’re relying heavily on imported food, something that has increased dramatically in the last two decades. Couple that with their shaky market (specifically the impact of the collapsing facade of a housing market) and being cut completely out of western markets, and China seeks to lose everything and only gain an island of people (if there’s anything left) who don’t want to be apart of their country. It makes absolutely no sense other than pride, but what pride is there in losing? Of course, we could all say the same thing about Russia and Gaza too, so there is that.

Right up to the tequila running down the foot. I think Tarantino puts the foot stuff in because it makes people uncomfortable, and he's building an undertone of unease in the situation. It's a slightly jarring note that turns a situation that seems non-threatening just a little creepy and unsettling, generally the prelude to things getting chaotic and usually perverse in some way. The opposite of the way he uses someone quietly using a bathroom to give an impression of calm. It's normal and usual, but all Hell always breaks out when he steps out the door. Tarantino's a movie nerd who's done way too much thinking about how film works to create emotional effects. He rarely talks about what any part of his own work was trying to do, but he can discuss the masters of a few different countries like a PhD. He's also a real dick, but you'd expect that by now.

Taiwan strait actually had small window of clear weather all year around due to the factor of fog and typhoon。Any invasion attempt by PLA/PLAN/PLAAF must take into account the meteorological factor that could highly likely and severely undermining their effort

If you go back into the history of the Philippines Islands before WW2 and before WW1 you will find out that the Philippines traded with the Taiwanese you can also see that the traditional fishing boats of the Taiwanese look a-lot like the Philippine Islanders. So by history the Philippines has more of a claim to Taiwan then China CCP government.
